The title is self explanitory, and if you have been seeking a way to do so in OSX then you'll be right here with me on this one. It seems the only way really is to convert them to a more common file, but that defeats the purpose of having the .flac file. I just was one simple way to play them..... iTunes plugin? Application? If you have any info please share it.

You can do it in VLC!

But I don't really like VLC as a primary application for playing audio. I'm not sure what you should use for that and FLAC, I don't think iTunes can do it.

you can use the cog to play them.
you're on your own here though, i have never used it myself, found it in a search on the
apple discussion boards.

good luck.

Actually i have tried that, I even re installed it but it still didn't play flac. I feel like I'm running out of options.

That's really weird, they list support for FLAC on their web site and I know I've used it on Windows and Linux. Who knows...

I used macFLAC, it works pretty well, but it just gives you giant .aiff (or maybe .wav) files from what i remember. Then you have to load them in to iTunes and convert them to whatever yourself, or use lame from the command line if you're leet.

Anyway, it's about the only solution since playing files with flac's tools from the command line would pretty much suck.
