So i'm arch mage and wanted to ramp up my alchemy stat so i figured that the Enchanted Chest you get for becoming arch mage would come in handy. So i gather a load of stuff from the garden and elsewhere and put it in the chest. I wait 24 hours and go back to find all my ingredients have NOT multiplied. WTF?, even worse. Everything in the chest had VANISHED. I was gutted. I even put 14 Nirnroots in there on the offchance i could get more. But no.

Even worse than that. I had also put all my alchemy stuff (all expert) and a bunch of weapons i was wanting to keep hold of , in the chest of drawers at the end of the bed. They had gone too.

Seems that the entire room is cursed. Or just my run of bad luck with the game continues.

I would suggest only storing items in houses you own. It seems if you store them elsewhere they'll disappear.

The thieves guild is well aware of that particular chest. They raid it frequently. I'd do what was said already, store things in secure locations, like your house.

For the enchanted chest it's one ingredient at a time (for example: one apple), no more.
After 24 hours you'll have 10 extra.

Also for pure storage there is only one safe container in the entire room, but for the life of me I can't remember which one it is atm :(

Ding ding ding, winner! Skirrow, did you even read what the lady said about the ingredient chest? Also ninroots don't multiply when placed in the chest.

What we need is a mod. Something that when you open a chest, cabinet, drawers, desk, etc... any container basically, it will outline the open container UI with a big RED line or shading around it if the said container is one that respawns the contents. Alternately it would put a big GREEN line/shading aound the container UI if the container is marked as "non-respawn" and anything stored will stay forever.

This would greatly reduce the amount of times I've read where people who lose stuff in containers due to them "re-spawning" with mundain items. I realize that if you purchase a house and then furnish it, you can store your stuff there, but there are many folks who would appreciate the ability to be able to store stuff in a location convienent to them as long as they know the container won't poof their shit.

I'm rather suprised that something hasn't been created like this already, unless it's feasibly impossible. But I don't see how, as all containers must have some sort of tag on them as respawning contents or not.

I wish I knew enough about the TES editor to create one myself, but alas... I do not.

pretty good idea, wonder if you have to edit each individually, or if they are grouped a certain way in the TES? Speaking of which, shouldnt it have come on a seperate disk with my purchase? or is it on the play disk? or did I have to get the CE to get it?

From what I understand, maademperor, the TES editor was released as a separate download from their site (and many mirrors i'm sure) and it's about 300 MB or so.

Should have heed that lady's warning. And i believe you can only use it once every 3 or 4 days.

No way, the editor is like 6megs. You can get it from the official site.

Certainly did. But didnt use the chest after about a week (real world time). You'd think that with so little going on in the game that i'd be able to remember that HUGE piece of information.
