Does Dell 2405FPW suffers the same backlight bleeding problem as Dell2005FPW? I am thinking of return my Dell2005FPW and the replacement back to Dell since both of them have serious backlight bleeding.

I am not sure if Dell2405FPW have the same problem or not.

I love to watch DVDs on my computer. Therefore, the backlight bleeding really bothers me.

Can anyone who have the Dell2405FPW give me some advice?

No, the 2405 does not suffer from the same backlight bleed. However, it's an LCD, so black levels are not perfect. Also, DVDs are pretty low resolution and will never look great on a big LCD monitor like the 2405.

is it going to be a lot worst than the 2005FPW? or similar image quality.... because I am pretty satisified with my vedio quality for 2005FPW.. just this backlight bleeading problem drives me crazy.

The 2405 is larger and has a higher resolution than the 2005. It will look worse than the 2005 but probably not noticeable if you sit back from it. I set my 2005 aside when I got my dual 2405's, which are set aside for the dual 3007's but all in all, they were all great. My 2005 had almost now backlight bleeding. The 2405 is a wise choice, but I'd wait for the 2407 if I was you.

Thank you... do you think $900 tax included for a DELL2405 a good deal. When the new 2407 comes out, it would be crazy expensive right? (since the specifics of the two monitor are so similar, I wonder if it is worth to pay another $200 extra for the new one)

A Dell sales rep told me its the same monitor and will have the same pricing as the 2405.

hehhe that is why you need to get HD content DVD's. Like the new T2 DVD, it looks SWEET on my 2405 (when the stupid program that it comes with decides to work).
