Release date for VISTA

well in all reality it need to be release in the july/august time frame so that the large oem's can have it ready for xmas
 
Even if Microsoft announced a date, it would most likely change between now and then anyway.
 
well that's true but if they want it to get to manufactuering by xmas then they need to release by then to get it thru WHQL .. ETC
 
That's true as well...which makes me wonder why we have all these threads of people asking when it will come out...as if anyone knows for sure.
 
It's just like any video game you've ever waited for. It will be released WID.

They said they're planning on a fall 2006 release date. If they make it before 2007 that will put them as the only software company to ever hit a release data that was predicted more than a year out. :p
 
What you should be asking is, how long will it take Microsoft to release the first critical update to patch some gaping security holes; and create some new ones.

I wouldn't touch it for corporate use until SP1 is out. Everything is made better with the first SP. So I'd mentally prepair for a late Q1/ early Q2 release in '07
 
I've read somewhere that MS is hoping for Nov 15.

Though, it sounds way too specific if you ask me.
 
I don't think you're gonna get a paper launch, it's a launch or no launch at all. Printing cds isnt the same as fabbing GPUs :p
