Howdy:

I recently purchased an EVGA 7800GTX 256 and wasn't happy with the performance. I've decided to eat the restocking fee and send it back for an X1900XT...making the difference (with the restocking fee) approx $168.00.

Will the increase that I see between the two cards be worth it?

Take note of the rig I have in my sig...if you think the 3500+ is going to hold back the potential gains of moving to the X1900XT, let me know. I may have to take that into consideration.

Thanks!

Its not a move I would have made ($168 restocking fee for marginal performance gain), but its your choice. No your proccie isnt the bottleneck in the system. Its still the vid-card. :)

you could use a 2800+ and it isn't going to hold it back heh but you will be holding the framerates back cause most games relie heavely on the CPU cycles more then ever now.
A 3500+ is perfect for that card. :)

Well the restocking is $68 and the difference in the cards is $100.

If my processor is fine where it's at and it won't hold back the X1900XT that much then I will be happy :)

Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated...
