Ok, so i've had my 60 Gb Black 5th Gen iPod since November, and I'm finally fed up with it reloading all 5000 songs + videos every 3 or 4 times I plug it in to update it. Sometimes it's only 1 new album I'm adding, and sometimes it's a video or two, but never a massive amount. My brother has a 30Gb, and it has happened to him once, but he doesn't update it as much. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this problem as well, and is it normal? It's a pain in the ass to wait 2 hours or more whenever I go to add something. (and I don't want to use winamp).

Take it off Automatic. Set it to add them manually, then just drag and drop from iTunes.
Since you can't upload a video manually, switch it to automatic, and once it's uploaded switch back to manual.

are you using it between two computers? if so thats why.....it has to switch to the other library every time (if its on auto that is)

Im pretty sure videos can be loaded manually.

I'm only using one computer, and the manual is a good idea i plan to use from now on, but I really want to know if this is a problem with my iPod.

Do you have a local Apple store? If you do then take it in and get it looked at since that will be a million times faster and you'll get results compared to any online forum.

That being said, I have never heard of a problem like this but it sounds like you have weird things going on with automatic sync. It doesn't sound like any common hardware problem would make this happen unless weird stuff is corruption your iPod's database file every single time which is...yeah, something I've never seen. I would check your software, update it, and update the iPod before you go much further, this sounds like user error.
