Norton has an manual update feature like a file you can copy to the PC, Laptop, and run it, which will then update the virus definitions to the latest. But I failed to find this for NOD32.

I am in Syria right now and have no internet connection which can be hooked to my laptop. So I want to download the definitions and burn them on a CD so i can update my laptop

ive never found the files to download on nods site for that. If you have the server version it will create cd update files for you. I've uploaded them to some webspace I have and I'll send you a PM with the link. It's about 9 MB and I don't want tons of people downloading it and eating up all my bandwidth :)

as Lowbatt points out Ive never seen manual downloads

1. its updating all the time

2. its looking at what your current definition base is and doing an incremental
thus its truely interactive

3. its concurrently a good piracy prevention measure

Id say get the laptop connected to the internet
(alternately if your not connected currently, what media are you inserting that you feel needs the latest definitions to catch malware?)

Oh I just want to update coz i'm getting this windows security alert in the taskbar saying that my definitions are out of date.
