how to over clock?

download rivatuner and adjust the tabs to a reasonable amount, test, apply and voila

You overclock video cards software wise, look up a program called riva tuner, then read about it before you use it.

Get Rivatuner, or if you want something more simple, get Coolbits (google it). Coolbits is a registry key that unlocks clock speed settings in the nVidia control pannel. Test it for stability by running prime95 on the CPU, and either looping 3dMark or playing GPU intensive games (you'll see artifacting if its unstable), also, monitor temps while stress testing the newly OC'ed card to make sure its not running too hot.

Alot of 6600GT's have no cooling passive or active on the ram and the cooling on the GPU is barely adequate if you plan on overclocking it.

You are better off buying an AC silencer or Zalman or anything that will help cool your memory and GPU slightly better then try overclocking. You can check and see on the card yourself and see if the memory on the card is even cooled with sinks or the HSF unit for the GPU. Most of the 6600GT's including mine that I have played with didn't have enough cooling to OC it much if at all.

EDIT: Cooling once upgraded on my 6600GT oc'ed quite a bit and it was a cheapo PNY card. I used coolbits since it's a reg edit and simple yet effective. I don't have the 6600GT now a buddy has it :).

but i want 2 know y should i over clock my card is it worth it?

You asked how to OC in your first post. Some people find it worth it even for a small OC like the people that spend a couple hundred dollars on a water cooling rig or gear to cool a PC and components better to OC it just that tiny of a fraction better than air :).

It's personal opinion and I don't mind OC'ing my stuff but it depends on my situation at the time like right now I have no need to but I can at any moment once I get the urge :).

THere are pros and cons to everything in this case you can void your warranty kill your card lose money etc etc.

if i over clock my pc will bo hotter then now and then i need cooling its a waste of time and money i think

In most cases OC'ing is a waste of time and money unless the benefit is great and usually it isn't as a whole.

It's what matters to "you" though :)

ok this 6800 gt agp video card need 300w power supply my mother board will give that 300 power or what?

Just do a google search or read hardocp guides to overclocking video cards, cpus etc, anandtech, tomshardware, speedguide, and on and on and on
