7800 GTX 512MB sightings

Is BFG really better than MSI? The MSI version has OCing capability built into its software. I am assuming the rush for BFG is due to it's OC'd hardware, is that why people are after those above the MSI 7800 GTX 512?

Yeah, also I guess BFG has built a good reputation for themselves as in customer service.
 
monarch told me last wednesday that they would have enough stock of the bfg 512oc to cover my card on 12/15. i was #39 on the backorder list. we'll see. i'm going to call again. i've basically called once a week since my original order on 11/21 to check on the status.

will post details of what i find out.

Well, I was, until Newegg changed their ETA to 12/16.

called monarch thrusday around 3 p.m. EST. they hadn't gotten their shipment in yet, so nothing shipped out to me yet. they asked if i wanted to substitute in a different card instead, and i told them no. if it ends up being january before i can get my card, i'm going to tell monarch to cancel my order, and wait for the next thing comign down the pike.

forget about it they hard to get overpriced and going to be passed on in a month or so Im ordering my sapphire ati x1800xt going to download the new bios thats overclocks to 750/1600 and then overclock some more, then Im going to sit back and not regret hitting the new egg for the last two weeks to get and overpriced card, and enjoy the 300 i saved to february when the new cards come out be it nvdia or ati, after this war Im a fan boy of either, just want to see who has better customer relations, and nvdia lost out on this one...
oh ya and screw those retailers who took advantage of the shortage, and hiked these thing way over 999 for a card that wont even sell for 500 in 3 months let alone 200 in 4

Well so much for my evga 512's.. Zipzoonfly had them in stock, allowed me to order 2 then 2 days later just cancelled my order and said... 'oh, sorry, I guess we had a glitch that allowed you to order some"... Thinking BS myself and someone over there is probs pimping them on EBAY at +$250 :mad:

called monarch at 5 pm friday. not enough cards came in. they told me i'm #29 on the backorder list for the bfg 512oc. so, by what they've told me so far, they got 10 of them in between today and wednesday of last week.

if they haven't shipped a card to me by christmas day, i'm cancelling my order and waiting for the next gen in february.

i'm tired of waiting.
 
Monarch has now also changed their ETA for the bfg 512oc to 1/30/05. i'm going to call on monday and cancel my order from them. fuck this noise. a couple of weeks is one thing, but waiting 2 months for a backorder is out of the question.

Did they get any cards since monday? cuz they told me they havent received any. and Im an Advance replacement due to a dead card.. :rolleyes: :(
 
shit man, i dunno anymore. last week wednesday, they told me i was number 39. today they tell mei'm number 29. either they got some in or they're blowing smoke up everyone's asses. when i placed my order on the 11/21 the ETA was 11/26. i thought sure, no big deal. i'll have my card by 12/3 or 4. no biggie. now it fucking says 1/30/06 and they expect people to wait on them? eff that in the ay.

I think when the date changes. Thats for new orders.. I think yours is still the date you saw when u placed the order? :)
 
actually these are starting to sell on EBAY for ~ $50 over .. not bad if you can pick it up immediately.....

I think we need to find out who those 10 cards went to, what price they ordered them at and when they ordered them.

If they went to someone who paid the $800 price...we should file a class action suit (how many people do you need for that kind of action?) The reason is they would be ignoring the previous lower priced orders in order to make a bigger profit on the more recent higher price orders.

This also would add to the illegality of Monarch charging your credit card before delivering the product (like they did to me and everyone else who ordered one of these cards and havent received anything yet).

Also, if any cards came in at all, and there are still people waiting for RMA, then they have in fact ignored their RMA responsibility in order to make more profit.

Why am I saying this? It's because I am getting sick and tired of these piece of crap resellers who just want to rip off anyone they can to make a profit, especially when it means ignoring their legal responsibilities to fill orders they have taken payment on.

has the asus model listed. May arrive before christmas and the price is in line with the standard set by monarch - once you factor in the Canadian dollar. :)

I agree. At least Newegg has simply conitnued to say that they're out of stock, unlike Monarch and ZZF who are taking backorders and price gouging, then ignoring the RMA people and the ones who ordered at a lower price. From now on I'm buying all of my computer parts from Newegg, even if the price is higher. They've done the right thing by simply refusing orders rather than trying to rip people off with these waiting lists and false ETA dates.

just ordered an xfx 6200tc 256mb, pcie from mwave. will be here by wednesday, for $60.

fuck this "limited release" crap on the 512 cards this gen. i was all gung-ho about them and thought with nvidia's track record with availability until now, i thought i'd have a badass rig for giftmas. now i'm gonna have a toothless tiger of a system and a stack of games waiting under the tree until next gen.

bah humbug.

Yea...and I have been waiting for 'expected delivery' on my $699 card since the 21st of November. I think I'll stick it out...Why would I want to ruin that delay tactic at this point?

The sad thing is my bud ordered one from mwave not even a week before me and he had his two days later. The card really does kick ass. I just feel like kicking nvidia in the ass about not getting mine.
 
Supposedly, my BFG 7800 GTX 512 OC firebreather will ship on the 9th of Jan, with a scheduled arrival date of 10 Jan. Got my fingers crossed!!

Might help huh? I ordered from Dell Small Business. How do you like yours? I'm hoping it will eliminate all my lag issues in BF2.
 
I have BF2 but don't really play it. It did fire the single player mode in BF2 just to test out my new rig last week, and @ 1600x1200 maximum settings, BF2 ran like a champ, in SLI.

I can tell you F.E.A.R. and CoD2 run like there's no tomorrow @ 1600x1200 maximum settings in SLI. In single card mode at the same settings, they did chug a little, espcially F.E.A.R.

So far though, my expectations have been met. I can play the games I want at maximum detail with smooth responsive gameplay.

Do you use v-sync?
 
i can't speak about v-sync in FEAR bc I haven't tried it out yet, but in COD2 v-sync slows the game WAY down. I have two 512 evga's in SLI at 1600x1050 and everything maxed in mulitplayer. When I first started playing those settings my frame rates were averaging around 45fps and the game was very choppy. After I turned v-sync off gameplay was extremely smooth and frame rates dramatically picked up. There were not ANY slowdowns in multiplayer no matter how big the fight got on screen.
 
Yea only use V sync if you experience excessive tearing and can't stand it otherwise you are killing your performance unless you have the ultimate monitor that does 100hz refresh.
 
This thread is dumb. Can we limit it to 512 GTX sightings or what? Leave Vsync discussion for another thread. Derrrrrr

Only talk about 512 MB card availability here.
Mine is still on B/O at monarch.

Bunch of shisters, and I dare not cancel because they already took the money from the account.
 
Just got notified today, my 7800GTX 512 ship date slipped a week, from Jan 9 to Jan 16. At least they are nice enough to A: not charge me before it ships and B: upgrade my shipping to next day! One more slip and I'll cancel it though.
