I'm probably going to pick up this psu for my new system , just wanted to run it by you guys first to make sure everything is cool. I was going to get the OCZ modular but i've had previous good expierence from enermax and the ocz looks kinda cheezy. This system wont have a ton of drives in it or anything so I dont think ill be stressing it very hard.

Optereon 165 OC'd (watercooled)
XFX 7800GTX (ocd version)
Abit AN8
1- 300GB 3gb/s HD
Thermaltake Xaser x8000 (has 3 120mm fans.
CD and DVD burner
cold cathode lighting

Looks to be an excellent psu, I think you'll have no problems...good amps on all the rails ! Enjoy.

The big difference between the 500 and 620 is the 620 has a higher combined 12V capability and more juice on the 3.3V+5V combined. In other words, not a whole lot of difference. They're both solid power supplies and the 500 is a GREAT value. I scored the 620 a 9 on my website. If I had the 500 I probably would have scored it a 9.5 because of the value.

I bought the 500W version. Just waiting for NewEgg to get it packed and ship it to me. :D

nice PSU, are you going to use the keyholder?:D

but i'd prefer the seasonic s12-600 w/ 80% effeciency. I got it for $108, twas a steal.

Dude... This is the third post in five minutes where you've pimped the S12-600. How many more threads do you have left to go? ;)

I've had the enermax liberty 500 for about a month now. Its a great psu. No cold boots soild voltages no reboots etc. The only thing is, its not as quiet as some of the other psu like seasonic. My old seasonic psu was quieter than this one. Its not loud by any means, its just not super silent. I'm very pleased with mine....

Anyone know if the fan in it is 120x25 or 120x35 or something else?

if anyone asks of "wut PSU should i get" i'll always pimped the seasonic- maybe seasonic should get a percentage of their sale???:D

BTW, it's because i have 2 PSU before i got this- the first one crapped on me, the second one causes reboots when i OC. After i got this PSU i've had no problem whatsoever.

Ok, that is ZZF and NewEgg off my list now. It took my lawyer contacting NewEgg and giving them one last day to ship my order or face action. Great googally-moogally.

Anyway, it should be here tomorrow. I'll take pics and such.

Are you serious? You didn't get order status in 24 hours so you called your lawyer?

That would be absurd if that were true. But it isn't the case.

It is a long story, I'll post it if I find an appropriate forum for it.

I recently bought the Enermax Liberty 620. I can say it's a very nice psu. and enermax really has some nice extras with it.

im using an enermax 500w liberty with the system in my sig...works great no problems
only thing i dont like is the cables have the molex and sata on them to where u can pretty much only use one or the other. i would have much rather had seperate cables for the different connectors.

the 400w version looks like an even better value. $30 cheaper than the 500w, and has 20A on each 12V rail, compared to 22 per on the 500w

The way I understand the enermax thinking was just that. You had a modular cable with support for basically 2 drives on it. and it doesn't matter if they're SATA or Molex since both are so close to each other. They market it as Eternity.

The Eternity cable is really neat in some instances. Example: CM Stacker. Use the drive cage with 4 SATA drives. My Hitachi SATA's let me use either power plug, so all four hook straight up with no extra wiring slack. It is a limited case, but it does happen.

BUT the manual says you are only supposed to use 2 plugs at one time. not use all 4 at the same time, so basically you have 2 extra ugly plugs just sitting there.

I've got the 500w and it's a very nice PSU. I had the Antec NeoHe 550, but we all know the story on that one. :(

Got the PSU from UPS today , very nice peice. I'm not super fond of the cables but i'm going to chop them up as needed. I'm still waiting for a few more parts before I really start cleaning up the cables on this thing.. But I think i've got plenty of room for my water cooling :D

what can I get away with running on this PSU? my plans include a 7800GT, X-Fi platinum, Cooler Master Aquagate mini 120, 2 dvd burners, 2 to 4 HDs, 5 - 120mm fans, and a fan controller. I want to possibly upgrade to a second 7800GT in the future. Its just that I can save a bit if I go with this one opposed to the 620

the only thing preventing me from getting the liberty is the whole molex and sata setup... :S ... anyone have pics of how it actually looks like used in a system thats not wire managed properly?

I'll take a picture of the cables tomorrow. If you're into the way the cables look at the back of the drives, you won't like them. I know I don't. You always have an extra connector hanging off the back of a drive. :(

are we talking about looks for a windowed case... Or in general? I am going to put it in a P180 so it shouldn't be a problem should it and from the earlier question - I won't overload my PSU will I?

Like through a window case. I was addressing cmge because I know he's concerned with how cables will look.

And no... you won't overload it.
