i cant let go i need the money, if i missed it it prolly woulda said it by now. i opened up another window and it said that i missed it, so maybe we got it its just really slow...who knows...ill be sittin here waitin thats for sure.

yea i left it running for almost 2 hours and nothing, so i gave up. so lame... i clicked on it literally RIGHT on 7:00:00. at 6:59:59 i was like GO GO GO! oh well no high def for me

I was just telling my friend about the stuff amex gave away last year (a couple BMW Z4s for $5000)...and I was telling him how it works, everyone jams the server at such and such time..and he was like, "man they must REALLY hate their webserver team" I just had to laugh, I would love to see the network stats on the amex webserver, hell on the inet in general at whatever the times you try to get in on.

I just want the Range Rover, that's all...just one...its not like I'm greedy or anything and asking for two.
 
Son of an F'ing bitch. The one day I don't look at the [H]otDeals forum and I could've (maybe!) got my hands on a X360 for $150? SHIT FUCK DAMN. How the hell did I miss this? I mean, I'm not that hot and bothered to buy a 360, but for $150 I sure as hell would've.

Yea don't feel bad about "missing out." I'm highly skeptical of the actual number of successful 360 buyers. I had several computers going, 3 on a direct T3 line at work and 2 on a cable modem and some friends to help. No luck.
 
Shoot I am going back on Tuesday to try and get a Range Rover for 5k!

I think this whole promotion is BS. I tried on one computer at 11:59:59 and it said "not yet". Tried on another at 12:00:00 and it instantly said "you missed it". No lag, no apparent attempt at comunicating with the server, nothing.
 
I also think the promotion is bullshit. Everything 'good' seems to get stuck in contacting the server.

So can anyone confirm that these promotions are actually real? I mean has anyone managed to receive anything from these promotions? I mean personally, not as in "my uncle's, cousin's, friend's mom did once" kinda way.

I think its a scam.

I tried to get a 37" LCD TV for $750 from the amex site about a week ago and had the exact same problem. The TV is no where near as popular as the 360 yet the system was still responding questionably.
It's fishy. I wish someone would use a packet sniffer and check out where traffic is going when you click on the button. Whoever exposes that crap is sure to get something out of it (i.e. range rover).

Usually I just creep around this forum, but I really needed to share my 2 cents on this one.
 
Not the 360, but they have a different offer every day. 3 times a day.
 
You guys are noobs. Just because it says 'You Missed It' doesn't mean it's all gone. It's just their way of saying 'Try Again.' You have to keep clicking. It's not like they give it to the first 200 clickers or whatever it is the amount they are giving away. It is totally random. It is NOT a scam. Do you really think a big credit card company is going to scam customers for their money? That's what VISA and Mastercard do.

its not a scam but its not random either, they say first come first served and they have 8mins to get all their info in or then someone else can win it, read the rules its all there.

Once one notes that both Visa and Mastercard are both big credit card companies as well, then this comment starts to make absolutely zero sense.

I Tried to tell you all, Amex is the Scum of the Earth... They are the "Thugs" of the CC world trying to give a sense of being the card for the well-to-do..

Its like 50 Cent pulling up in a brand new Escalade on 24s with gold teeth shining... Looks good, but is a thug underneath..
