OFFTOPIC (sorry):

NoID,

I just HAD to comment on the "Computer organization and design" textbook... Me and my friends called it "The Kama Sutra", since I spent so much time f*cking with that processor design I had to do... Hope you enjoy(ed) the course--I did ;)

P.S.
Is that a black Lian-Li PC6xUSB? ;)

You mean that 21 inch clunker in the corner of my room?

I have that same Dell CRT that you're running gentoo on and those same speakers (don't use them though). I painted mine black after I got tired of the ugly beige look. It's about to be replaced with a Dell 2005FPW though.

A bad picture, and the CRT may be 17", but I still love it. The colors are remaining great (still matches with my Canon i9900 and it's been with me for 5 years now.

I will grieve the day this CRT finally goes.

I don't know if I'd feel safe with that much radiation pouring out from behind my desk....

Right, you can power a small city with all of that ; )
C'mon you know a Dell 19 inch would look great with that green light : )
The colors look good but what brand is it?

== People please post the brand of your monitors for the screenshots section if you can. ==

The Sony picture does look nice with the blacks. I had a Sony CPD-e400 which was a great line for blacks and whites. At the time .24dpi was the best but .29 is not bad for flat panels although the Dells are smaller. Is that circle in the game shot (Lower right corner) stretched though; I can't tell.

It shouldn't be. Half-Life 2 supports widescreen resolution. Playing it in 4:3 and stretching it would be a pretty silly mistake.

I'm sorry. It's a Compaq FS740.

Ya I run half life 2 with it set on 16:10 aspect & 1600x1024 resolution, it was running 1280x800 in the screenshot which is also a 16:10 res.

LOL soulsaver, I had one of those. I actually liked it. Went blue though and I had to get rid of it :(

Here's my most recent pics. Specs are in sig but if you're too lazy: ViewSonic A90F+ 19" CRT, Logitech LX700 Cordless KB/Mouse, Logitech Z-5500, X-Trac ProHS mouse pad, Ikea Jerker, and computer case is an Antec SLK3700AMB. TV is a Toshiba 27" with PS2 underneath and so on. Enjoy!

Figured I'd post a shot of my entertainment center being it has a CRT :D

click Full page mode to see full size after clicking.

Xbox / PS2(s) / Gamecube / N64 / JVC S-VHS / Sony DVD player / Sony 32" HDTV / Z5500 Subwoofer on top,and yes thats a strange spot for a sub but suprisingly it still puts out a good amount of bass ;) , I have my Xbox & DVD Player hooked directly into the Z5500's via Coax and Optical cables.

Well, heres mine, i just redid it this weekend, it looks, and feels, SOOOoooooo much better than my old setup:

Long time reader, first time poster.

Gotta say I love the CRT. They are just wonderful things. Cheaper and better than the LCD at this point.

Here's my setup.. CRT is a Dell 1600HS 21" (Sony Trinitron), which I picked up for free a while back. LCD is a KDS RAD-7 17", which used to be my primary.

bump in hope of a sticky since lcd has their own.......

Yes it should be. Even though I love my LCD there still is a place in my gaming heart for the flat screen big crt. I mean look at that 24 inch wide screen Sony its a work of art.
