So besides water and a paper towel, whats the best cleaner for lcds? I was looking at the monster cleaner, but can we offically say its safe to use for monitor lcds? I dont wanna go spend 29.99 on it and it messes up my screen,

i don't use any liquid stuff on mine. You'd have to get it extremely dirty to need something like that. I just wipe it off once or twice a day with a micro fiber towel

Wow, not sure where you are shopping but it’s only $19.99 at Radio Smak and you get all but a lifetime supply even if you clean your TV and all.

Yes, it’s totally safe for LCD’s and any other specially coated screen, glass or plastic. I have no vested interest in selling Monster products but what they build they build right.

When it comes to cables I’m pretty much Audio Quest but for Surge and noise protection and the screen cleaner I’ve yet to see anything beat a Monster product, or the way they back their products.

Me sand Paper and 1750 psi pressure washer.

Blow of duster for the edges of the screen and no lint soft a little wet towel...

We use the Monster Cleaner to clean LCD screens all the time at the Best Buy (Geek Squad) where I work.
The towel that comes with it is very nice.

microfiber towels don't scratch the surface of anything. It's what they use to towel dry your cars at a carwash. And also what comes with the monster cleaner

Im shopping in CANADA, in canadian prices :D . But if it works safely, Ill purchase it.

A microfiber cloth is all you really need. I use $10 cloth I got for my camera lenses. Just make sure you keep it clean and be careful of the edges on some of them (some can have rough edges that could scratch the surface). Wash it when needed and dry it properly before using it again. The cloth itself is enough for dusting and fingerprints. If you have something a little hard to remove (bug guts) add a little water.

Only need 1 cloth and they are washable/reusable. Cheap and effective.

Ill probably go pick some up from walmat in the automotive section. Is the monster screen cleaner's cloth that it comes with, microfiber?

Sorry about the Canada thing…….. ;)

Yes, the kit comes with a nice really big micro fiber cloth and I really do recommend the fluid, which “A” won’t hurt your screen and “B” cleans really well and “C” you use so little the bottle lasts for years.

I start with a damp lint free cloth and wipe down the screen, then dry it off with a another (dry) lint free cloth.

Im going to go and buy it this weekend, and then Ill let you guys know what I think of it.

I got some monitor/LCD cleaner from Staples for like $3.50. It comes in a plastic spray bottle and I just spray it onto one of my clean microfiber clothes and wipe the screen gently.

I wasn't about to spend $20 on that name brand cleaner that contains the same stuff (fluid and microfiber cloth).

Yeah I use Kimwipes for cleaning my glasses and such, but when you have a big greasy fingerprint on the lens or screen, the wipes just push the grease around. You'll need some sort of solvent to get rid of grime like that. Most people in the lab use distilled/deionized water, but I'm sure that stuff I mentioned that I bought at Staples would do the job.

Soft cotton t-shirt dipped in water.

I usually just pull the undershirt I wore the day before out of the laundry, run the corner of it under the tap for a sec or two, and wipe the screen gently. Been doing this for a while now with no ill-effects.

I used to plan on getting specialized LCD cleaner but I really don't think it's necessary after my little laundry experiment.

because thier cables arnn't supposively up to par with thier claims, that means thier cleaner is shit?

that link has nothing to do with the product quality. If you were to have read it before responding you would have gathered Monster Cable likes to sue a couple thousands companies so far (including discovery channel for shows like monster garage etc) for having the name monster in the domain name or company name. They have put a few companies out of business, forced companies to change their names (creaturehtpc on the site I linked there used to be monsterhtpc). Basically they feel they own the word monster and anyone using it needs to pay them money, shutdown or change there name..even if the product they sell has no threat to them.

well if you read, there is one guy that said the cables are shit and not rated at what they should be, so yes I did read, just not the whole thing.
