Hi all!
It's modding time again.
I get the chance to sell my old athlon xp system, complete with my modded coolermaster centurion case.

i had an old at case lying around with a nice shape, luckily i was able to buy a cheap second one for spare parts.
here we go:

and here the nice new hardware to go inside.

A64 3000+ Venice, clocks now at 2500

soon in the project i found out that a normal DVD-Drive would not fit with the large A8N installed, so looked on ebay and found this laptop Panasonic DVD-Writer and a ide converter.
np2c.JPG

since i liked to suck the cool air in at the bottom i needed something that keeps the whole case about 30mm above the ground, after a little research i come up with this.

test fitting of the psu

now it was time to start a little painting, iv'e used dupli color automotive paint for all paint jobs.

this time i didn't want a window because iv'e wanted some sound dampening on the inside. but without a little plexi it wouldn't be a mod so i decided to cut a x in the side panel.
np10.JPG

since the space in the case is very limited i need some extreme flexible round ide cables for the dvd drive (hdd is a sata). I made some by myself from the flat ones that came with the mobo.

aswell for the midi port.
np15.JPG

next i frosted some plexi with 600 grit wet sand paper and put it behind the X in the side panel, i even added 12 leds.
np12.JPG

np11.JPG

for my thrusty gamepad i needed some fron usb ports. so i used a additional packplate as a template and cut a front bezel.
np16.JPG

finaly i completed the suspension for the tires.
np17.JPG

np18.JPG

next i need to cut a front bezel to hold the laptop drive and mounting device.

this is a holding thingie for the fan filters. there were a lot of struttings but my thrusty proxxon got rid of them.
np24.JPG

assembled the psu (changed the loud globe fan with a red led coolermaster 23db one) and the case intake.
np25.JPG

np26.JPG

soldered some red leds to the connectors for power and hdd leds
np27.JPG

started with the final assembly
np28.JPG

a red led with a piece of frosted plexi is added to the front usb ports for the right "glow "
np29.JPG

heres the finished top panel, unfortunately i found out that the fan will not fit inside the case bacause its interfering with the mobo so i mounted it outside later.
np30.JPG

as i posted allready in the Zahlman 700 cu thread i changed the loud cooling on the gfx card.

np30b.JPG

final assembly. due to the limited space the cabling looks like a rats nest in some places. but i somehow managed it to hide the worst behind the drive cage.

and a closeup of the glowing front usb ports

due to the noise isolation material, the box is somewhat silent.
cooling seems to be enough for the winter months, i think a watercooling build is calling for springtime.

take care
Chris

ok ... so i said it looked good....

now i say it looks fucking awesome. Great job man that is class.

a very nice job man, that fan on top is an eye sore though. maybe paint it to match or something. other than that everything else is pretty awesome :)

Maybe when you do the watercooling you can put a shroud over the top fan. Great job. Your case has some bad ass rims. ;) What are those 20's... :D

WOW that case is HOT! i would buy one if it had a window, i like the inverted ness and all the room! wow!

good job! :D

Your cuts are incredibly straight. Excellent Job, I hope to see more from you in the future.

hi all,

first thanks for all the positive replys

@ shmuckety, yeah they look like 20"s ;)

and yes the fan on the top was an eye sore........was..........

it took me a while to come up with a solution, a smaller fan was out of the question so i come up with this.

not nice eh.....

i guttet the inside of a cooler master led fan from the "shroud"

the red led fits nice with the color theme.

and visit at home depot will fix the problem with the one white zip tie instead of 4 black ones

Yeah that looks sooo much better, maybe roll those ends of the tie wrap upside down so they aren't showing.

They might hit the fan blades then.

Awesome mod dude, very clean. I like the placement of the psu.

I'd probably have used something like black thread, or even thin metal strips/wire.

Other than this little detail it looks absolutely fantastic :)

very nice looking mod. i thought the fan with the stickers on it was cool :p
i'm invincible!
