Leadtek 6800GT PCI-E $272.50 After $20MIR

Yes, it's a pretty good deal. It's hard to find a decent 6800 GT PCI-E card for under $300 shipped. I got an EVGA from ZZF at around $300. Newegg would charge tax and I don't think Leadtek is as good as EVGA, so for taxable customers, this deal is warm. But for those who don't get taxed, it seems good.

Given that the 7800 GT is (well) under $400, I'm surprised the 6800 GT video cards haven't fallen well under $300 and closer to $250.

Hmm $20 mail in rebate + $20 combo deal with DFI motherboard purchase makes this a decent deal.

I got the XFX one from monarch last week and I just installed it. I wanted a 7800gt, but it just wasn't viable in my budget.

My first impression is that it is a loud mofo. :( I'll see what I can do about switching out the heatsink/fan.

I think he was wondering what the difference between "retail" and "lite retail" is.

Apparently, "Lite Retail" doesn't have that spiffy X-shaped box that XFX uses. Mine came in a pretty compact rectangular thing a bit larger than the card.

I see. If that's the only difference, then it's definitely worth it to get the "lite" box and save a few bucks.

For another $25 more, you can get an eVGA 7800gt from newegg. They are running a deal of evga 7800gt with free motherboard for $399 and a $40 rebate (making it $360). Sell the SLI motherboard on the forum or over at ebay for at least $60 and voila, a 7800gt for less than $300. That is what I doing. My SLI is being sold for more than $60 on ebay and the 7800gt is coming from newegg as we speak.

I can only see the card for 399-MIR, wheres the motherboard ?

Look right below the card, there is a small circle option that you can click to get the motherboard for free. Look carefully. It is tricky but it is there. I missed it the first time and had to call newegg when my order did not include the motherboard.

Just looked....newegg took the deal off....Mine went through though...
