Triple edit: Deal dead again! Might be worth a click in case it comes back in stock ;)

double edit: Deal alive again, better hurry!

Edit: dead already, that was fast! <Might be worth trying in-store.

Buy it in-store to save on shipping costs. Alternatively you can buy it online if you have some coupon codes, or don't have an OD in your area:

http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=710528&N=1000000459+10324+4294951570&An=browse

Don't mull it over too long, it's been posted at some hot deal websites so it'll sell out fast ;)

Uhh it says it's 19.95 on the site and in stock. Why would anyone really want this?

yeah but it doent wok when i add to cart

And I went in store and they said they do not carry over 16port switch

ya, same as anything else: ymmv.

Unfortunately not all stores carry the same equipment :(

The deal was alive for a whole 3 or 4 minutes after i posted. Showed up as in stock, in my cart and everything, didn't buy one though...

The item you requested was not added to your cart.
You requested 1, however, only 0 are available at this time.
So I guess this means that they won't have them in my local store :(

Frys carries them, maybe I can try a Price Match?
This would be nice to have at a LAN, just in case the 16 port gigabit dell switch I got fills up.

Well I called the guy back again at the store and he agreed to give me the 16port switch for $19.95. I wanted the 24 but ill take what I can get ;)

I show the 24 port version in stock @ $19.95...

EDIT:
Is an excellent deal even though they're unmanaged switches...

Once I try to add them to your cart, I get a message stating that they are temporarily out of stock....
Now if I can just get my hands on 3 of them.... :p

Again they gave me a 16port one for 19.99. Still a great deal.
They wouldn't give me the 16 port at my store :(

Any suggestions on swinging it?

Same here. No go. I had to wander back and forth from computer to computer with like 3 employees cause they couldn't figure out why the item was 'active' but they couldn't order one. Finally the lady that actually knew something told me she couldn't order one or price match a 16 port switch.

nice,

getting that urge to buy all over again :p

ehh, i don't need it, you guys can take mine ;)

Got me one! Thanks for the link.
Now I can replace my beautiful 5 port + 5 port + 8 port setup with one piece of hardware. Yeah :D

Oh, I didn't get charged shipping either, just taxes. Total = $21.64

I was too slow.
GRRR... now I'll be keeping my eye on it.

edit:
congrats to those of you who grabbed one.

Got three of them. Originally got two, but they said I needed fifty bucks for free shipping, so I added a third. WTF am I gonna do with three of these? Anyone wanna trade for a 4/5 port jumbo frame gigabit switch?

That was stupid. You could have bought yourself a 4/5 port Gigabit switch for $35 here or a 24 port gigabit switch for a few bucks more. (like $100) LOL

Yeah, I kinda gotta agree with you. But I never really expected the link to go through.

The only analogy I can make is like tossing a snowball at an open moonroof of a BMW 50 yards away. You never really expect to make it, and then, when you do, you think "now what?"

This is what happened to me. All day, just for the heck of it, I'm clicking on the link, never expecting it to go through, and of course it is dead. Studying for an exam at 5:30AM, and the link goes through. "Huh? Now what?"

Well, "Now what?" began with heaving the books out of the way with one hand while grabbing my charge card with another. And I'm the (soon to be) proud owner of three of these switches.

not to mention, you'll be the most popular guy at the local LAN party. w00t!

Forget the LAN parties...check it out:

I figure that with 72 ports, I can wire every light switch, electrical socket, faucet, bookcase , and more into my network.

Wait a minute...I've seen this movie before, and it usually ends with a blurb on CNN about how some idiot hung himself with cat 5e cable while trying to wire his chandelier into his network.

Hmmm...maybe the LAN party thing isn't such a bad idea.

i know the switches your referring to, i almost bought one until i read the fine print. They have two 10/100/1000 ports and twenty-four 10/100 ports! :(.

Holy cow you're right!
QFT
-TRENDnet's TEG-S224 is a 26-port 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Switch with 24 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernetports and 2 10/100/1000Mbps Copper Gigabit Ethernet ports. Users can connect Servers to the Gigabit port(s) to increase
I'd totally reccomend the 16 port gigabit switches from Dell. I think I paid $130 something. Looking back I regret not getting the 24 porter.

Has anyone had switches ship out yet?

Mine are still stuck in "Special Order Processing" and now the switches detail page show discontinued.

They arent actually shipping, they are being delivered from a store or local warehouse, from what I understand.

If you paid by credit card, you'll know they have shipped when the charge shows up. There is a hold on my card, but not the actual charge yet.

Should be interesting to see if these actually do ship. Like most of you, mine are due for delivery Sep 19. When I went back to try to order more, the website said out of stock, but the price put in the basket was $130, not the $20 posted. Wonder if Office Depot made a pricing mistake and will try to bail out of actually selling/shipping them.

Ok, so the order was canceled "per the vendor"

The lady said it was a special order item and the vendor was canceling all orders due to a pricing error.

Boooo!!!!

Yes thats right. When I called 1800GoDepot to r=order they said there is none in my area  There is no online warehouse, its as if you went and ask them to check other stores for you while at b&m.
