sticker flew off my bfg 6600GT

what are these things made of? i've had two stickers fly off the card. one, was actually when i was working inside the computer, the more recent was when i was on the computer and heard a crazy noise, i open the case and the sticker was jammed in between the gpu fan and the heatsink, so it was barely moving. what would have happened if i wasn't there when this happened? i don't even know where the sticker went, i tapped it, and it flew somewhere inside my case :eek:

i've read other people having this problem with the bfg 6600GT. wtf?
 
On my eVGA 6800NU I noticed the sticker was half way off, So I just pulled it off so it won't jam my fan and possibly damage my card.
I would advice anyone with the same sticker on the fan to peel it off before you install your card. It could save your video card's life. :)
 
That’s odd, I actually TRIED to peel off the sticker from my 6600GT, but I think PNY super glued the damn thing on :eek:

Sandpaper did the trick though :D It looks real nice with a mirror finish to! :p
 
without the stickers it wont oc nearly as well.. just like how when you put racing stickers on your car you gain about 5-10hp ;)

This is false information. You only gain megahurtz if the sticker clearly and distinctly says "NOS" :eek:
 
my 6800nu from evga didnt have a sticker but when i took the heatsink off one day i found it inside. i suppose its best just to take them off when you get the new product so you dont have to worry about them getting lodged in the fan or blocking airflow.
