alright in my loop i have pump-rad-res-cpu-gpu
now my processor is around 32-34 idle a64 3500+ venice
my video card is around 34c idle but thats not cool enough, when i go to play bf2 it heats up to around 37-40c but my game gets so laggy (singleplayer) that its hard to play

now i know its my video because i can take an icecube in a plastic bag and hold it onto the gpu block (maze4) and it cools it down and my game runs really smooth
currently i have an 80mm fan and a 92mm fan mounted below my video card but it still wont cool it enough, any suggestions?

I run the water from the rad straight to the GPU, then the CPU before it returns to the reservoir.

Those are pretty low temps btw.

When I'd OC my 6800U it would hit 57C under load.
DDen NV-68 Water block. 1/2" fittings.

BF2 spanks the hell out of my system too.

I guess it's time for a 7800GTx eh'?

ah not hardly, i just bought this new system a week ago
even when i turn my video settings down it still gets laggy after a while, at this point im questioning my game
now before i put the fans under the card it would get crappy lag when i played hl2
now hl2 runs fine with those 2 fans under the card

but im stuck here i know my temps are descent, but how come when i hold the icecube on the gpu block it runs fine, and my temps are still low?? im confused

i get 48C load tops with all the cpus heat hammering the gpu

Well, all I can say is retry your testing. It's impossible for your 6800 to throttle itself or make errors and slow itself down due to temps in the 40s. Many people who run stock around 60c load run just fine. Make sure your testing methodology is correct. I just can't think of a reason for why it would be doing that at that temperature.

yea its crazy i cant figure out whats wrong with this thing

for the heck of it today i threw the stock heatsink fan for the 6800 on there and got temps around 50c an everything ran smooth as silk no with a 15 degree centigrade drop...i lag :(

note: the memory on the video card isnt coverd by the stock heatsink nore the waterblock

maybe you can try overvolting the AGP or PCI-e slot via the BIOS.

i had to add air flow to my voltage regulator because it would get too hot and freeze the card because of lack of air flow

i have already overclocked the card, same thing happens and i have 2 fans under the card
i think it may be the chipset getting hot with that heaterpipe crap on my mobo
abit an8-ultra

i run unlocked 6800 NU with water around 40c~ 50c load unload is perfectly fine. Run bf2 no problem. BF2 takes a lot of memory, maybe time to upgrade memory? 2gb was recommended by bf2. also try put the memory heatsink on the memories, just for peace of mind.

not sure if this helps ( i have a x800xl)

i have a BIP 120.3 and i had the cpu and gpu on it. cpu(a64 3200) was 28c and gpu 30c on the loop with stock settings

i overclocked the gpu to 578 mhz and it was running at 41-42c stock speed on the gpu is like 498 mhz or so.

I play bf2 as well and when i went to 2 gb of mem the lag went away, its like the screen skips as it reads data from the hard drive. playing at 1280 with everything maxed out the lowest my fps goes is about 50 with smoke and all kinds of jazz going on.

i guess it could be the capacitor or pcb which is overheating. i was cooling my 6600gt ones and there is no airflow inside my case at all.
one day, i cant even run 3dmark with my 6600gt at stock speed, and cant even play games. i tried touching the pcb and the capacitor and ram, they are burning hot. i immediately turn on my vantec pci fan at high speed, blowing on the card for about 2mins, and it works again.

lol that thingis the leetness
well my danger den water pump died so im running everything on air now about 10 degrees c warmer and it all runs fine so i dunno
