He wants to know how to play his PS2 and GameCube on his PC monitor.

Dude you going to break your PC monitor if you sit on it. Maybe not, but either way it will not be very comfortable to play PS2 on your monitor. I like to play on my couch, the carpet or atleast a comfy chair...

Here's what you do.

First, you get one of these. That will let you connect Composite/S-Video (and CATV, too) to your monitor.

Then, you get one of these. It will let you hook your PS2 and your GameCube to a Composite/S-Video connection simultaneously.

That's my setup, and I like it.

it wouldn have been half as funny withoutthe picture. and just o that kyle doesnt et out the an hamer nmei gess i will this guy out.

you need to to buy the thing for ps2 that plugs into the back and gives you a coax cable instad of rca(i thinks thats what there called) then get a tv tuner card. and whala. that is how i would do it

Wow, only one person knows about runing HD on the GC?

Look man, you need to buy the COMPONENT cable for the GC from Nintendo. You cant buy it anywhere and noone sells it. Its very high quality so its not really a big deal, just sucks that you have to order it online. www.nintendo.com
Oh, and that goes for Xbox and PS2 also, except you can find their cables in stores. (maybe... noone had the Xbox HDTV pack last I went shopping.)
Then you need the converter. There are many, but KDS is the best one. it will set you back about $100, but the quality is unmatched. Try www.keydigital.com for that one. I have the KD-XBlaster with pass-thru for PC and console hookup. (you can have you PC on and when you turn the console on it takes over the display, turn it off and it goes back to your desktop. Very cool.) Not sure they still make that model...

A word of warning though, Noone of the consoles default to progressive display when you turn them on. I.E. you wont see anything. Plus with the PS2 there are only about 10-15 titles that *MIGHT* have the option for progressive scan. In other words, if you were thinking of playing Katamari Damacy on your monitor, save your money. It wont work.

This is a good option for GC and Xbox users, because almost all titles support progressive scan. REMEMBER that your PC monitor can ONLY do progressive resolutions. Thats why the PS2 wont work, and why you dont see anything on power up. (all the consoles boot up in 480i)

So here, let me give you my personal experiance, starting with the GC....
First you need a game that does progressive scan, not hard on the cube, it seems only Capcom games (minus RE4) dont support Pscan. (Killer 7 comes to mind....pfft)
If you need to do memory card mantinance, you have to go to a TV. The entire dashboard for the GC runs in 480i and theres no way to change it.
When you start your games, the best way is to do it is to turn the GC on with the game already in, that way it skips the dashboard and goes straight to the progressive option screen. BTW, it will not go automatically, you must hold down the B button, on power on, till it comes on. (BTW, once you do this for a game, it will save it as default and you dont have to do it again. just power on and play.)

Xbox...
Dashboard is also 480i, but that can be changed. The only way to do this is to update your console with the latest version of XBOX LIVE, and then start it back up. When back at the dashboard, hold down L and R and then click BOTH thumsticks at the same time. That will change the dashboard to 480p and make it default. (BTW, im not exactly sure, but you may have to turn on the 480p, 720p, 1080i options first before doing that, but then again, you wont even see those in the options if you dont have the component cable.)

PS2...
DO NOT buy el-cheap-o brand component cable. And dont waste your money on monster cables either. Get the offical Sony component cable, it might be hard to find, but its more than worth it. Same goes with all the other consoles, DO NOT BUY A 3RD PARTY CABLE. You will not be impressed, trust me.
You wont be playing much PS2 on your monitor, just because theres hardly any game that supports it. But the PS2 does have one saving grace...
Its the only one that allows you to watch movies in Progressive. The option to turn it on is in the DVD options, once you pop in a movie.
The only problem here is that you cant change those options while on your monitor (480i, remember?) You could try holding down X and TRIANGLE when you turn the system on, (thats how you turn Pscan on for games that support it.) but Im not exactly sure the DVD system boots like that.

Lots of info, but trust me, you dont want to start investing if you realize its not going to work for you. (like, if you play more PS2...)

need more info? just ask. :D
