Good score? Average? Bad?

Depends on if your CPU and GPU are at stock speeds.
You are better than average though (5,112).

it'd rock if we could download that spreadsheet to do our own analysis :)

As long as you post your analysis' here I have no problem.
Now how do I get it to you?

When I was in college I hosted it on my free college website for like a week.
Imageshack won't do it for me.
Do you want me to send it to you?

2517 Radeon 9800Pro (never submitted this card before)

This is my soon-to-be-old video card in my HTPC.

I've got a new 6600GT and some new benches coming!

No!
No I don't think so.
That score is way to low, even though it is a Dell.

I used to have a 2.4C on an Asus P4P800 and I got way over 5,000 3DMarks.
Of course my processor was running at 3.0 gigs and 1,000Mhz FSB all the time on stock cooling.
Unless your Dell motherbaord really sucks your processor should be able to do the same.
That processor is one of the easiest and best overclockers of all time.
But if you really don't want to mess with the CPU go through this list.

1.Make sure you are running NO programs while using 3DMark05.
Disconnect from teh Interweb and disable your virus protection.
2.Make sure you are running 3DMark05 at the default settings.
If you have the free version you can't change the settings anyway.
3.Make sure you are using up to date drivers. Either 77.72 or 77.76 from Nvidia.
4.If all else fails defragment your hard drive.

What is the deal with your memory?
Do you have 3 sticks of 512MB?
Did your Dell come like that?
That could be a problem, because with 3 sticks of memory you can't use Dual Channel mode.
If that is the case, either pull out 1 stcik of 512 (the correct one) and put it back when
your purchase another stick of matching 512 or sell your 3rd stick.
Dual Channel mode is your friend! :D
Well, my dell can't be Overclocked, otherwise I would have done it already.
For the memory, I have 2x 512s, and 2x 256's in it, it originally came with 2x 128's
Normal settings on 3dmark
The drivers I had on were a little older, since that was a few months ago when I tested it.
As soon as I finish my side window, I'll try it again, and see what I get.

New score Mentok, although I am not yet done. This is with my CPU at 2220 and my vid is only at 570/1050. I am looking to get into the 4100 - 4200 range :)

edit: make that 4158 :D

I'll update more after more stability testing :)

Bah, crank that sucker up! I've got mine up to 609/1.18 on water. I'm going to try a pencil mod tonight for a few more volts.

And I'm done: 4075

This is my new 6600GT on my mediabox. Specs in the link

Does anyone know someone that will volt mod this baby for me? I don't wanna mess the card up and pencil mod is only yeilding a few hundreths of a volt.

Your telling me that your card came with a memory speed of 1,255?
Weird.
I thought it was either 1,200 or 1,300 depending on which brand you got.

xfx's standard 7800gtx comes at 450/1.25ghz

Just got done building my rig.

AMD 3700 San diego w/ xp-90c
BFG 7800gtx
74 gig raptor
320gig WD storage
2 gigs of XMS corsair ram
Asus A8n sli deluxe (sli not activated)

Plus my other stuff. Ran me just over 1800.

Comp has been giving me a few problems. Mostly cause of wire management. Will give me problems where it won't post unless I unplug and replug my floppy drive, but me thinks that I just need a new cord.

Anyways, got a 8254 on 3dmark05

What you guys think of that score with that price?

That is with no overclocking and stock fans (had some tornados but couldn't stomach the sound)

You have the third highest score with a GTX at stock BFG speeds (460/1300 or 500/1300 in 3DMark).

Ceiling is what, 120C? But that's still really high. How's the airflow in your case?

Well, its a Cooler Master Wavemaster and the fans in there are the ones that it came with. Only had my new computer for about 3 weeks now, so it cant be a bad case of dust. I think its just the case. And the 7800gtx throttles at 115c. I have also noticed that my 4000+ at the same time as checking my 7800gtx temps, were about 65ish, is that too high for the processor aswell?

My CPU has reached 63C and that is the highest I've seen.
My GPU makes it into the mid 80's after a few hours. No big e.

Whew! Thank you Mr. Mentok! :D

And on a side note, the temps went down really fast, about 3 minutes later both the CPU and GPU were back to normal load temps (for me about 47c for the CPU and 60c for the GPU).

Just ran 3dM 2k5 with my new cards, I plan to take them higher with my watercooling setup once my ramsinks come in :)

2x(SLi) XFX 7800GTX OC (490mhz/1.30ghz)

Score: 12404

I get about 6100 3DMarks with a Pentium D 820 @ ~3100MHz and a Radeon X850XT-PE at stock speed.

I'm working on it {^_^} I'm having an issue with my memory on the card, I think it needs more juice. :(

I use the 80.40's on my laptop, havent compared with any of the 7x.xx's though.

Sonicks, the GPU temp is a little high but nothing to worry about, but that CPU temp (65C) is way too high. Operation at temps of 55C< will kill the life of the chip. Do something about your airflow, add some AS5, ro get a better heatsink on that CPU ASAP

T Rush said:
yeah...that it has been awhile since I've run 3Dmark...I just got these NVIDIA 80.40 Beta Forceware Driver...any body use those with with '05 yet? or do the 77.7x's perform better for this?

A few people (like 5) on the list used them so far, and their scores are not looking bad compared to scores achieved with the other drivers.

Either that or he's listing two residences :p. SLI is purely for benchmarking. My 6800GT runs BF2 at 1600x1200, 2xAA, 8xAF, everything on high cept mediuam textures (only 1GB of RAM). I'd imagine that one 7800GTX, not even overclocked, could do 1600x1200 6xAA/16xAF or other insane image quality settings. So unless you're gaming at 2048x1536, SLI really doesn't come in handy.

Comes in VERY handy at 8xS AA

Needed on a 1280x720 42" Grand Wega III
