Well, I just got back from the North Carolina studio last night, and I'll have to confer with the show's creator before I post or link any on-set photos, but....

IT'S DONE!!!

The cases are finished, and the film is in the can. The first ever case modding television program has wrapped up production, and is now in post-production. All I can say is WOW, what a success! I was one of 6 contestants who was split into a team of 3 dedicated enthusiasts who completed a top to bottom, modded case from scratch in under 30 hours of work time. I seriously slept about a total of 6 hours the whole weekend, and drank more caffeinated beverages in three days than I did all of last month.

Like I said, I must confer with the producer and creator before I post or link any images for legal reasons, but I do have this link to pictures of the cast on set:

The format of the show is a competition between two teams, and while a winner has been decided, once again my NDA prohibits me from releasing any more details right at this moment.

Pictures of the cases should be up on the website, www.modthemachine.tv by the end of this week, and when they do, I’ll post em’ here for your viewing pleasure.

In all honesty, the absolute SOONEST anyone will ever hear about this on TV is at least 6 months from now, and most likely longer. I’m pretty sure that it will not be picked up in time to make the fall new-show lineup.

But, that’s not the point. I think that if anything comes of this it’s that this idea of a case modding TV show is solid, and the resulting cases are fabulous considering they went from raw materials to completed, functional machines in one weekend. The show’s concept WORKS and I’m confident that after the pilot episode has finished post-production and makes the rounds of network programming directors we’ll be seeing some kind of modding television show somewhere in the next year or two.

sounds cool and all but the case modding community is still relatively small compared to the population of average tv viewers, I wonder what network would pick it up other than g4/tech tv or some obscure cable channel.. If it winds up on a more popular network that would be sweet though

That's awsome, when will yall know when it's coming on and who's showing it?

Correct the point of this thread is the hot chic in the pics, please post more. :D

Seriously though, sounds like fun. Would be nice if it got on a Major Network.

Building motorcycles from scratch is popular, could be a similar type show.

Yeah, she is pretty. Her name is Nikki, and she's really nice, and she seemed at least somewhat interested in what we were doing, and by the end of the show she was starting to get what this whole thing was about. But mostly she sat in the back with her parents (they must not have liked the idea of her hanging out in a dim warehouse with 10 guys) texting on her phone and looking bored.

The weirdest thing about having her there was whenever she walked by she left a wafting trail of perfume in her wake. There was something unsettlingly strange about the smell of hot female and melting acrylic that didn't seem to go well with case modding.

But it was nice having her there, and she did a good job. She's the show's host, BTW

Quicksilver! What up, this is Zack. I was with you on the show =p.

Two [H]ers...

By the way... Im in team 1, Im the guy that looks like an Unreal Tournament character with a respirator and the goggles...

We didn't build custom systems from scratch btw. We had cases. Building from scratch would illude that we just started with raw materials and fabricated all case parts from raw materials, we didn't. We were supplied cases. I had a blast.

Glad you made it home safe Quick, now we just need to hear from Rockstar. :p

Come on......with you 6 guys there, does anyone honestly think anyone (except more modders) would watch the show if it wasn't for Nikki??

Sounds cool, tho. Let us know when it'll be on. I'm sure you'll have a dozen people willing to save it to their htpc's!! LOL

Well, our teams did do alot of amazing stuff... I personally will probably watch it often if it goes to TV, simply because I know me and 5 other guys started it all.

Ugh, please don't get G4. They'll prolly offer, too.

What the hell is up with "Attack of the Show?" G4 is driving me crazy. I miss Leo and Pat. Sarah's still hot though. :p

Not to be all mean and stuff.....but didn't the last thread trying to promote this get locked by kyle? I don't know why you guys keep trying, it's lame.

Um... I dont know why you keep trying to thread crap. We arent promoting anything.

Except.

That.

You.

Are.

Bantha poodoo.

It isn't thread crapping. I'm simply letting you guys know. You can disguise it but it's all the same.

I'm happy for ya really but I wouldn't step on kyle's toes

Disguise it? Your a retard. Why in the fuck would I even care about promoting his TV show? Its not even a TV show. What benefit would he have from making 20 people on [H] interested in the show? Absolutly shit. You arent going to sponsor him. Your not going to buy his show to put on your network.

Im defending the thread starter because we were both on the show.

Hello everyone, I have an update on the first Episode. It is in the can. We will be heading in to edit it in about a week and a half. I have put up on the web site in the SHOW section some highlights and some pics so please check it out.

I think he's just excited about it more than anything. It's so premature to go into a "promote" mode at this point.

Hey, even though that thread got locked out, it's still what got me on the show, and I proudly wore my [H}ard|OCP Hoodie all through the watercooler installation. I don't think once Kyle sees me wearing a huge [H] on TV while installing a watercooler in a custom case he's gonna care much about that.

Zak, thanks for getting me to the airport. I had a great time with you and Dustin on the way up. My flight got delayed (thankfully) for some reason, but If I had been there 5 min later, I would have missed it for sure, I got there right when they started boarding. Shit Son!

Eddie, were you one of the contestants? I thought only Zak posted on the [H]. And you're right, we were supplied with (nice) cases. But both teams had to do so much fabrication, a lot of it was "from scratch". But you are right, and the last thing this experience needs is more "misrepresentations"

There's also a gallery of pictures posted up on the main site, though it's unfortunately kinda hidden. Here's the link

eddie_dane = Chris :cool:

I don't post much on [h] but I go way back with some of the more prominent members like mister Qtip (mainly from the old pheaton days). I pop in where appropriate. ;)

Hey guys-- believe it or not, I worked at a pizza place with the owner of modthemachine in Carolina Beach a few months ago-- he left really soon after I got there, but I remember him telling me about all this when he found out I was a computer n3rd-- I just never got around to entering to be in the show--- I know he showed you his Hellraiser spread in those magazines from awhile back--when I saw those I knew he was gonna do something interesting with this...

and daYum, that hottie is nice-- you ever eat at Flamin' Amy's while you were here? Good food indeed-- though not as good as what's wearing the shirt...

He told me about what he was planning and if it went as he had described it to me back then, I know you'll have some wicked cool stuff to show for it :)
Anyway-- small world, and it's cool to see that the show was a success...

Cheers--

Here's a good quip for this photo:

Nikki: So, what do you call this thing???
Modder: (Sigh) That's known as a power switch . ;)

You're not on a "need-to-know" basis there Tengi. Keep on strokin'

Hehe;;well sounds like good fun--best of luck with the networks!

The theme was oceon/water... etc.

edit: by the way, I love strokin.

::Yawn:: My show will be better ;)

I do not know where you are in your production Sky, but we are in post-production and are talking with the major networks about signing for a first season. I have heard about your show and you are doing a teaching type of show, where we are challenging the people in the show, BIG difference.

Best of luck to you and see you on the high road...
