Hello,

If I've read your post correctly ,your buying a 754 pin cpu for a 939 pin shuttle SFF, If i'm right the cpu will not work. but every thing else looks good.

Well, then, I guess the stupid truck made an extra delievery at my place today, thanks.

Now for a processor that migt fit.

AMD Socket 939 Athlon 64 3500+, 90nm, 2.2 GHz, 512KB L2 Cache 64-bit Processor -
OEM $275

I think its a good setup.

Are you going to be gaming?
-If it was my setup, I'd get a slightly cheaper cpu, like a 3200+ and spend the extra cash on better vid card. (6800 gt oc 256)
Also, I'd get 1 x 1gb stick of ram, yeah the cas is a bit higher, but I'd want to be able to upgrade to 2gb later. Might seem like over doing it but load and save times are soooo much faster with 2gb over 1gb.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

I second that like im buying a 3000 and a x850xt PCI-e hehe
He has to get 2x512 because he is going to have to run it in dual chan..my 3500 wouldnt boot with 1stick in

Some good ideas about the graphics card. Thanks for all your help.

I have a primary system now, a little old, but rock solid (assuming I dont break it when I fix it), p4 3.0x 1gb (2@512 pc3500 Hyperx) raid-0 (2@80 seagate sata) and a new bfg 6800gt 256mb on an abit ic7-g in the lian li pc65

I play pretty much one game WOW, which rocks on the main system. I play with all settings on maximum with no lag, delay or choppy-ness.

I am going to try the 6800gt in the SFF box to see how it goes. I expect that the new machine will actually be faster than the old machine. It will be interesting if it is.

I spent a little more on the processor because I had an alternate choice for a graphics card already. The main goal was to get a solid SFF machine for $1000.00 and this was what I came up with.

It should be delievered today or tomorrow.
