okay, I figured we could start a thread thats sole purpose was to have 2405FP owners post any or all pics that they have taken of their LCDs.

so I'll start with my "mini review" of this incredible LCD.

here's a few mandatory "whats in the box" shots:

next are a couple shots comapring my 2045FP to my 2001FP which is about to go bye-bye:

a shot of the mucho connections on this beast:

the memory card reader which I wont be using because I already have a reader:

and last but not least, here's what she looks like in her new home:

-okay, here's my .02 cents on this LCD: its nothing but 24 inches of pure bliss. the colors and lighting are absolutely incredible on this monitor straight out of the box. I have yet to adjust any settings and I probably wont. the fact that this LCD came to me with ZERO dead pixels is soooooo nice compared to the four 2001FPs that I had to go through before I could find a "keeper" that only had one deal pixel which only showed up (very faintly) in a box screen. the fact that I can have two browser windows open at the same time is also a very nice feature.

so all in all, I would have to say that Dell certainly has a winner with the 2405FP considering at how its very affordable when compared to other 24" LCDs that can cost almost DOUBLE and yet not have the impressive specifications that this monitor has.

-so there you have it. my initial impressions of this LCD with plenty of pictures to go along with it. I hope that other members will also post any pictures that they have taken with their new beast as well.

play me some DVDs babe! can you also try the component in for me pretty please =^).

It's all about the component in for me too! Please post some of dem monitor pics & screenshots folks! TIA.

Can this thing be lowered any more than it has? I really like a low centre of gravity.

Nice review. I didn't even know this thing had a USB/memory hub.

Nice pics.

Yes, the monitor will sit lower on the stand. I think at its lowest it will sit about 3" off the desk.

How can you sleep knowing it's on the way?

from staying up all night anticipating it, the doorbell kinda freezes when its really cold so i haf to run and check periodically zzzzzzz

How about some photos of an all black screen during nighttime/in a dark room? Does it stay completely consistent and uniformly black at all angles (up, down, left, right)? Disregarding the most extreme angles of course.

And how about greys and other dull colors, how consistent do they remain at all angles

ask and you shall recieve. here's three shots I just took.

first shot is looking straight at the LCD head on:

second shot is a left angle view:

and last but not least is a shot looking upwords at the monitor:

-actually the backlighting is pretty uniform unlike what the camera's pics are showing. the greys are pretty consistant throughout the entire display.

nonetheless, I hope these shots answered your question(s).

Photo request from someone with a 2005 and 2405: a head-on photo with both screens side by side showing black background to compare contrast.

I like the built-in desk drawers. The dark grey steel looks really cool.

Oh, your PC setup looks great, too!

Actually, those aren't built in. They came of my old desk. (I just bought this one yesterday) The drawers were sold seperate with this desk and they cost 80 bucks! I decided to use my old ones for now! :)

Oh, here's a picture of the desk they came off of if you're interested. Notice how my 85lb NEC raped it.

that desk is awesome (the new one). it's looks real comfortable, plenty of room on top, great foot room below and a nice looking finish. where did you get it? how much was it? is it sturdy? Also, I must say, nice monitor :D

Hi Ozziegn,

I wonder if you could post a side-by-side picture of 2405FPW and 2001FP. I am wondering if the vertical view length on these two monitors are the same. Thanks.

Yes, I'm in love with this desk. I got it at staples for $150. I spotted it in one of Icewind's pictures in the LCD picture thread. We're going to start a chain of OCPers buying it!

damn, i can't wait till my 2405 shows up... but looking at all these pictures i'm curious if you guys have any wrist problems. the keyboards are so very close to the edges of the desks. personally i need to at least rest my entire forearms on the desk while using a keyboard/mouse.

No its not how I normally have it setup. Just playing with two LCD's before my 2005FPW sells. Once I sell it.. Ill clean up the clutter.

The colours look a lot warmer on your 2405.

You sure you have to sell the 2005 ;)

damn, the 2405 just dwarfs the 2005

ozziegn,

can you please hookup a progressive DVD player to the display via component input and let us have a glance of some DVDs played on it =) (like LOTR, Star Wars, etc.). make sure you turn on the progressive component output =).

i use my display mostly for DCC and moviewatching (i watch more than i create ;). thx in advanced!
