With my system MBM5 reports my cpu temp as 50°C....
in the bios it hovers around 30°C and with hmonitor I idle at 27° and full load is around 40°

I don't know what program to believe, with MBM the "motherboard" temp is 26°C and it NEVER moves, with hmonitor my "CPU" temp is at 26°C and it never moves...

with hmonitor the "motherboard" is the one that I think could maybe be right(as my cpu), but 27°C seems a little low for an A64 at 2.25ghz with the stock cooler and AS5...

If you aren't as confused already as I am I'd like some input please!

well damn, only way to find out the true temps is to get an external heat sensor deal, i dunno what it is though, someone here will help you though :)

Yeah, I should go down and get a battery for my temp probe... I don't really have a good place to put it though... I wish I had a flat thermistor.

I'm in the same boat without being able to beleive my temps. Was looking into some sort of external monitor for awhile, but I couldn't get any input from anyone. My solution was to just ignore it, and get throttle watch to see what's really going on, but I suppose you don't have that luxury with non-intel

I just wish I could get something, I want to overclock back up to 2.6+ and I would like to know temps... I like knowing what my stuff is doing.

I hate to say this buy the mobo you have is widely known to suck at telling temps. Two of my friends got that board and they both had wacked out temp settings. One was getting like 80C and the other was getting like 70C even with AS5 and the cooler going full pelt.

Buy a fan controller with a temp sensor i reckon is your best bet, or a dif mobo :p
