First off I must admit that I like CounterStrike:Source, I think it's pretty cool.
But where did the idea of doing CS:S as the ONLY multiplayer for HalfLife2 come from ? Why didnt they create a new and original game for HL2 mp ?
Look at it this way, imagine lets say Epic who create the Unreal series, what if for UT2004 they only made an exact copy of UnrealTournament 1, just ported over to the UT2004 engine. People would have said WTF, thats it ?
Or if id Software with Doom3 if there multiplayer was just Quake3 CTF, using the same orginal maps, but on the Doom3 engine, people would say, how original... NOT.
I am sorry, maybe I was just expecting more from HalfLife2's multiplayer, like a HL1 deathmatch, or some new crazy idea of an game ? Not just the same old game and maps redone with pretty graphics.
I know there is TeamFortress2 in the works, but thats a stand alone product with it's own price, it wont come as part of HalfLife2's package.
