Just pray that the middle monitor doesn't break loose while you are reclined or it might land right on the jewels!

Thats sig material right their!

congradulations: you have to much free time on your hands
Just cause he actually uses his free time for something (IMO) productive doesn't mean you have to come in here and crap. This project obviously took a hell of a lot more than just 'free time'.

1.distance from eyes to screeen is way too large. It means you will tend to get closer to your screen, but the tilt will get in the way. Ever noticed how the majority of us are literally inches away form the screen (and the back hurts because we're not supportinh our backs anymore?)

I set the monitors at the same head eye distance that I used when sitting at my regular desk. Now when I sit at my desk, I rest my head on the headrest portion of the seat.

2. Tilt is impractical and I don't really see the use of that. Mouse will slid edown, drink will spill... why?/

Because I am 1000 times more comfortable sitting at this thing then I ever was at my old desk. Mouse does slide when released but it is not an inconvienence. And a clever cup holder fixed drink sliding problem.

3. Cost. 100$ yes, but materials only, laying around. I bet no one in their right mind would sell this for a 100, it's just not doable. Whoever said that, has no experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing. And no one would buy it at 10Gs, y'all just complained about the Gamedeck being too expensive at 4500, with leather and powder coating and all.

Agreed. Take a mad man to sell these for $100 bucks a peice. I wonder what one of these would cost if they were built for sale?

4. Patent. There is a patent already for that. Do a search at uspto.gov under computer workstations, you'll find it there. Sorry...

DANG! There goes my retirement.

I would be afraid of those monitors falling and breaking bones n' shit  . Badass though.

THAT IS P.I.M.P.

reminds me of the ship in matrix

ive always wanted to do that

doesnt that feel like the monitor would fall down on you?... if i had the money, id go with LCD monitors

can you get more pics of the back?

I got a total of $140 in those monitors. I couldnt touch one 19" lcd for anything close to that, let alone three of them. I spent a small portion of the saved money on good welding rod and steel. Those monitors are not going anywhere.

I am getting ready to disassemble the top portion of the desk to accomidate my two new 19" monitors. I will also be painting it black. After I am done, I will take some more pics.

i dont think his comment was fired in a negative way... maybe just a bad choice of words

anyways.. isnt it a lot of strain on your hands to type on the keyboard since you have to stretch out your hands away from you possibly higher than your head to type?... maybe you should make the keyboard closer to you or make it like a tray so you can sit down and then pull it as close to you as you want...

just my two cents...

i love this... i gota make one too

The keyboard is mounted on a tray with a wrist support that I can pick up and rest in my lap or on the arm projections. For quick typing while gaming, where it is mounted is fine. When I am doing a lot of typing or surfing, I move the keyboard to my lap.

This is probley the tightest desk around.
Even the computer is out of control.
Props to the builder and to the master Hardness!

porps for the work, but all your doing is putting more strain on your body using a system that way.

Every time you type and continue typeing your using back muscles to continually hold your arms out in front of you fighting gravity like that.

may be a little too extreme for my liking, however it is very unique, and looks like a pretty solid design!

I looked at that thing and got so hot. I showed my computer and it shut down due to heat :D

That is truely and awesome desk, pshhh more like entertainment center

updates? more pics?

One of my cheap 19" monitors smoked, so I am waiting until I score another before modding my desk.

I did install carpeting though...w00t!

Hey Disarray, very nice job there. Must sukk to get up to use the john tho! Just don't drink too much, or use a catheter!

that desk is truly insane, awesome work man. just hope those monitors dont let go someday and crush ya,

Now I need suggestions on what to add.

You need a fridge. It looks pretty freaking [H]ard right now but if you put a fridge within reaching distance of that thing... There will be no measuring the [H]ardness.... :D

Awesome.

It's ghetto as fuck (not THAT ghetto, but still, I like saying that, lol).

Must bre pretty comfortable.

Although it will suck when a monitor falls on you.

As someone else said:

Holy. Fucking. Shit.
[H]ard

Any chance we could get more detailed(or just more, as in quantity) pics of the mechanism of it? It's looking like I'm gonna need some kind of reclining position for the projector setup I'm building. I was planning on some sort of cushion recliner, but if this was even remotely possible...

And what chair did you use?

That is an amazing desk....wow never thought I'd catch myself saying that.

Very nice work. Seeing work like this inspires me to start building a new Comp.
I would like to see some more pics of the incline mechanism. Can't wait for the updates!!!!

I have painted the desk flat black now, but that is about all I have done with it.

The chair is just the seat out of a chevy astro van. I have been looking for a nicer one with a built in heater and numatic lumbar support but have not yet found one. Anybody have one they want to sell cheap, let me know :p .

If our power is back on tomorrow, ill try to post some more pics. Right now, im stuck in the snowy south east and I am not turning on my primary rig with the generator running. I've already toasted one ceiling fan, scared what it will do to my pump on the cooling loop.
