    actually i have no problem with diy, i have a couple of hd44780 lcds sitting here now. my main question is how people are interfacing them, i know about arduinos. and maybe that is how most people are doing it, just wondering about alternative ways to interface them to the pc

    i just have a couple of questions for you guys that have put small lcd's on your rigs. i have 2 rigs with lcds on them now (they came with them) but i want to add some to my others. i am talking about the little 16x2 or 20x2 20x4 ect sizes that people use to display cpu temp and fan speed ect...

    you have to wet sand way up to around 2000 grit. then start with the polish. i recommend mothers mag and aluminum polish. example of results i have had.

    i think powder coated black. then you can play with finish textures to add some depth and class. ie. some matte, some gloss.

    i think button heads or rivets as well. but i like the button head because they have the hexagonal shape of the hex head in them, which i think plays into your theme. plus you can take it apart and put it back together without having to drill out rivits.
