Forgot to mention how surprised I was at how horrible the stock speakers are. No exaggeration, they are the worst I've heard in years - I have the bass turned 100% and they still literally sound like those cheap 6" high computer speakers you get for free. I don't get it.
My 3 year old Samsung...
I've been watching this thread for a few months and was pretty convinced that I was not going to take a chance on ordering one from Newegg or Crutchfield and have to send it back because of some defect input jack, dead pixel, etc. There were just enough people here having those problem out of...
Thanks! That gives a much better idea of the distance relative to your head/eyes!
Do you find you get any sort of motion sickness being that close with FPS's?
I've been wondering the same thing. I keep hoping a pic will get posted w/someone sitting in front of the monitor with their hands on the keyboard, to see if their face is ridiculously close to the screen or not. Not many of these desk setups look like they are much more than 2 feet deep. I...
Thanks, SleeplessIncubus! That's cool, cuz the 2407 is one of the options I'm looking at. I'm really looking forward to your pics and your opinion on the close viewing distance... :)
I second that, thanks Sucka and Kinson. I've been intermittently asking for opinions on sitting that close to the monitor and nobody really answers me back. A huge number of the posts are banter back and forth about monitors shipping from wherever, how soon they'll get there, etc.
At my...
I'd be interested in reading your opinion when you get it. I'm on the fence about getting the Dell 24" (versus the much cheaper 22"). I'd like to get something bigger, but the price is high enough that I'm considering other larger monitors. What kind of a desk do you have that is 4-5 feet...
Sabregen, are you actually sitting that close to the monitor?!? That looks like about 1-1/2 foot viewing distance... Don't you actually have to move your head to see the whole monitor from corner to corner?
Do you guys think there is a minimum spec needed to run this monitor adequately for FPS games?
I have a P4-2.4C clocked to 2.7ghz, 1G RAM, Nvidia 6800GT. I run a Dell 20.1 inch right now in Call of Duty2 @ 1024x768 with a few details off and it's fine. I would turn the Westinghouse down...
Are you guys saying the Dell 24" isn't a good FPS gaming monitor? I was thinking of getting one for an Xmas gift to myself.
I thought it evens comes with Dell's XPS super gaming computer?!?!
