can't get HP ZR24w at max resolution when connected to laptop

Darksword, I'm not a boy. :-) Also, as I said, I can display 1920x1200 if I extend the display, so my video chipset can handle that. It just can't do it if I try to display the same thing on the laptop and monitor. harjon, it seems from my googling that it's possible to get a laptop and...

can't get HP ZR24w at max resolution when connected to laptop

I just got my HP ZR24w monitor and have connected it using VGA to my Lenovo ThinkPad T400, with graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400. need recs for 22-28" non-TN monitor. TV ok?

I don't mind taking the time to get a TV set up right if I can get an awesome deal on one, but mainly I was just curious about those two because they were cheap. :-) But yes, sounds like they won't work for me. Thanks for the info. So I'm primarily still interested in getting recommendations...

need recs for 22-28" non-TN monitor. TV ok?

I am looking to buy a 22-27" non-TN monitor for under $500 (preferably under $400). I'm a web designer, so color accuracy is important, but not nearly as essential as if I was doing photo editing, etc. So that's why my only rock-solid requirement is not a TN panel -- can't stand the brightness...
