Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I just found out about this project a few days ago and hope some here might be interested.
this is where i would just easily give in and reformat. sometimes its faster and less aggravating and a fresh windows install often does wonders. as far as what's wrong, not knowing why you had to do a system restore leaves no clues, but it sounds like something got hosed and still is...
here's one reason:

i agree with not installing the nvidia firewall. i just use bus and ethernet drivers and no marvell as i use nvidia lan.

excellent advice. keep 'em comin'.
been using nvidia port with no probs since august.
if it were me, i would reformat before blaming mb. i would be suspicious of adware/spyware, or some driver issue. if it still has problems then you have at least tried to troubleshoot. could also be...

i had about 10 windows open on the subject(all from google, too) when i made that post. i'm still reading and no mention of how to detect the cd - only your system. i know i'm not infected because i have no sony cd's but i do have one coming with a release date of jan.2004.
i am looking to...
so is the rootkit a hidden file on the cd? is there a way to view it in windows explorer or other app? i have not found any info how to detect this other than the cd packaging?
i saw beyerdynamic mentioned. i've heard these:
- dt770 pro (closed) 80 ohm version at guitar center - heard on bad equipment that couldn't push the headphones but they are similar to 990's.
- dt880 (semi-open) 250 ohm - awesome soundstage with very neutral presentation. poor recordings are...
