Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
getting ready to pull the trigger on this build...unfortunately i forgot that i need a new keyboard and mouse as well which upped the price on the purchase a bit.

i've been out of the game for a while now and i need some advice on a new build. any help is appreciated.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
mainly gaming like wow/cod4/tf2. also trivial stuff like web/music.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and...
where are you guys finding these for less than 4870's and around $250? cheapeast one i could find was MSI's for $290 after $40 MIR all the evga's i've seen are around $330.
i don't understand why its better to go with a 4870 at 24" and 4850's at 1600x1200 resolution? i've been browsing toms and 3d guru and charts always seem to indicate that at larger resolutions the cards get closer to each other in performance. at 1600x1200 and below the gap between the two...
hopefully someone with a little more experience chimes in, but i'll give you some stuff to start you out...
atm DDR3 isn't worth the price, stick with DDR2. since it doesn't sound like you plan to OC i'd go with DDR2 800. these G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 are really...
i saw this in gen hard and it scared me.
i'm getting the E8400 and was planning to do some OC'ing with the G.Skill DDR2 1000. at newegg you can get the 1066 Dominators, after all is said and done, for only 10 bucks more than the DDR2 1000's shipped.
should i avoid these now? i can...
i'm new here so don't believe everything i say. however...
for browsing the internet and watching dvd's the Q9950 seems like overkill. with a 32" lcd i'd consider dropping down at least to a 6600, then taking the extra money and upgrading the 4850 to a 4870.
good luck on your first...
bump.
i was considering that Acer as well. there were a few user reviews on the right that said it was excellent for gaming but I'd like to get some input from some [H] members before i make the purchase.
the price for what looks to be an excellent 22" is very appealing.
recently my pc met an untimely demise and for the past week i've been browsing the forums scouting out new hardware. i primarily use the pc for games and college work.
i'd like to play current games on high settings but i'd also like to play d3/sc2 and ep3 on relatively high settings by...
