    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

Well, my FW900 finally died. I was already having issues with it not turning back on when I shut it off, I would only get a flash on the screen then blinking orange lights, so I was forced to just leaving it on all the time. I guess it finally caught up with me. There was a storm last night with...

My power button finally decided to stop working. Most of the time when I push the power button I just get an orange flashing light. I have to push the button multiple times before the picture finally comes on. I must of hit the button at least 20 times this morning before I finally got the...

Same here. Some pictures of how it looks running it would be welcome, as well.

    CRT

I'm stil using an FW900, but looking for an LCD replacement. My FW900 is currently dying... randomly, the screen will go blurry, like looking through frosted glass. Sometimes only for a few seconds, other times all day long. Then for weeks it won't have an issue. I wish I didn't have to get...

    HP LP2475w (Possible new IPS)

That really isn't the point though. 1920x1080 is only 120 pixels less vertically than 1920x1200. If you set it to 1:1 it should fit perfectly horizontally and not have to scale the image at all. It'll just be 120 pixels short vertically, and the monitor should then just center the image...

Ugh, I don't want to see that. Just when I was thinking of buying it too. I need 1080p for the PS3.

    HP LP2475w (Possible new IPS)

So after searching and searching for a replacement for my dying FW900, I end up back at this monitor. I was hoping for some kind of LED monitor to be released that isn't a TN (cough, Dell), but I haven't seen anything that has the inputs I need (HDMI and DVI) and 1:1 aspect scaling in 24". Tp...

*sigh* With as many problems that my FW900 has had in the past 4-5 months, I'm surprised it lasted this long, but it seems as if the day it goes to the junk heap is close. The past few months, when I normally turn it on, it would sometimes be out of focus (like looking through frosted...

That's the setup I used to use with my PS3, and it worked perfect.

Are TN monitors still the choice for gamers?

Is there an easy way to get a list of these? I'm in need of an LCD since my FW900 is almost dead, and a TN panel isn't going to work for me. I need accurate colors, but a fast panel for gaming.

Well, after 9 months or so it seems like my HP branded one is finally on its way out. I noticed when I turn it on today it was much more blurry than it was yesterday. Three times within the past hour I've had the screen make a loud pop and then the picture goes black for a second and then comes...

I still couldn't find a driver built into Vista for it, so on a whim I just downloaded the XP driver to see if it worked, and oddly enough it did. Though the Sony site doesn't list Vista as supported for the driver. It still didn't unlock 1680x1050, which never worked properly in Windows...

So I upgraded to Vista Home Premium, and it doesn't recognize my HP branded FW900 at all. I'm using the BNC cable because the VGA port on it is messed up. I read in this thread that Vista does include a driver for the monitor, but I can't find it at all. How would I go about searching for it...

I use an HDFury with the FW900 as well, and I can honestly say the power cable doesn't make a difference in terms of image quality, at least not one that I can see. I have it connected through VGA using a 6ft HDMI cable that came with the HDFury.
