    Any current games will run perfectly fine even if it only uses two or four of the cores available. There's no worries there. The 8 cores will help with multi-tasking and making sure that the game / application gets 100% of the cores it uses.

    It's still too early to tell. It's also possible that this info was based off of an early press model of the GTX 580 which may have indeed forgone GPGPU.
