Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just reviving this thread to find out what people's experience is, currently, with 690 SLI on multi-monitor setups (5760 x 1080) or otherwise. The news on this setup has been replaced by 780 and Titan talk.
Just ran a set without crossfire enabled (i.e. single 5870). Here are the results compared to the runs with crossfire enabled:

Interesting. I just tried it out as well and only saw 1/2 FPS difference. I'll have to try it in the game w/ FRAPS. It was either this game or NFS:Shift that disabling vsync increased FPS by ~20FPS in the game.
I don't know what the answer is. I've had good performance from this machine, first when I had the Q6600 in it, and now with the Q9650. I'm running the 10.3 drivers, for what that's worth.
They're pretty quiet, IMO. In regular use (including gaming) I don't hear them over the sound of my case fans. I have the case fans on a controller, so they ramp up and down with CPU temp.
If I run a GPU stress test then, once the GPU temps get up to about 85, the sound of the GPU fans...
Hi Crumpler. Zalman Flex fan clips (what I used) fit with a bit of bending. It's hard to find just the clips, but if you watch Ebay for long they do show up from time to time. There are Scythe clips in stock at a shop local to me and they look pretty much identical to the Zalman ones that I'm...
No worries. Thanks for the feedback. I don't have Crysis -- only FPS I have are Metro and BFBC2, and I agree that a more CPU-intensive game would have been useful. I looked long and hard at Crysis, but balked in the end. Maybe when the next comes out.
