Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Antec 300 doesn't have an intake hole for the PSU. There's a lot of back and forth on the subject. since there isn't much space there. I had mine mounted with the fan up, and ended up cutting out an intake hole, blocking it off with foam, and mounting the PSU fan-down.
In concept, mounting...
You're making a blanket statement on these "behemoths." Take a look at the specs.
(height/width/depth)
Thermalright Ultra Extreme:
160.5 x 132 x 63mm
Zalman 9500:
125 x 112 x 85mm
Just something to consider, it's really not that much bigger.
From http://www.overclock.net/computer-cases/559386-pink-led-fans.html:
"I can't really help with larger fans than 120mm, but for case fans the AC Ryan Blackfire4 Red fan is pretty pink contrary to it's name. I bought 4 of them hoping for a cool red like what the picture shows, but they are...
When I compared the slipstream to the s-flex on my TRUE, they were within 1C-2C of each other at the same RPM. However, the slipstream was louder, or at least the sound signature was more noticeable. As a case fan the slipstream doesn't have that problem, so I'm thinking because of the lack of...
The venerable 6800 vanilla. Introduced me to RivaTuner - unlocking pipelines and overclocking.
Which led to research in additional case cooling and better PSUs.
2.2v is very safe for that ram, 2.3v should be ok for testing and 24/7 if you have good airflow, above that is a little sketchy.
If you can keep CAS at 4 when above 800mhz, that would give you the best performance. For a little more leniency try lowering the strap to 333 or even 266mhz and...
dust doesn't enter a case through an exhaust fan.
if there's dust accumulation on the inside of the case near the fan, that just means there is a lot of dust in your case, and it just jams up at that spot (probably on the inside of the fan grill?).
wait..wait...wait...that part you linked is for the Ultra 120, not the Ultra 120 Extreme. Which do you have?
I don't think it'll fit between the heatpipes on the Extreme. You'll probably need to get the scissor bracket I linked to.
