Computer freezing in both Win7x64 and Ubuntu after addition of new storage HD

So, I unplugged the new HD and it still freezes. I then switched the OS HD to my other SATA6 ports and it still freezes. Maybe I have a faulty OS HD or my RAM, CPU, GPU is causing the lock-up I would suspect? Maybe a heat issue? I don't know.

Computer freezing in both Win7x64 and Ubuntu after addition of new storage HD

I guess I'll disable/detach it and see what happens - I was trying to avoid that, but...

Computer freezing in both Win7x64 and Ubuntu after addition of new storage HD

Hello, I recently installed a WD Caviar Blue 1TB drive to be used as a storage drive. This drive does not contain any operating system. My operating systems are on my WD Caviar Black 640 GB. Prior to this installation I had no freezing in either OS. Since my addition of this drive I have...

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

There is no way that that Polk is "way better". The dual 8"s have something like 20% more surface area and an extra 100W. Maybe sound reproduction is a little better due to materials, but... The reason I would get a plate amp is because there is no reason to trash dual 8" subs and an enclosure...

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

So here is what I have decided to do. I found a decent receiver that should last some time that I can run my computer, PS3, Wii, etc., all hooked-up to my Klipsch Promedias. It should be expandable to larger sats if I want in the future. Its a bit pricey but not outrageous - Denon AVR-591 for...

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

So I finally got everything back together and still not working. I replaced every component on the DaughterBoard and a few more (e.g. R527 on the main) but no sound from the sats. The sub seems to be working although I am not sure that it is functioning optimally (it may be I just can't tell)...

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

I think I read that BASH tech was bought-out, but I don't remember by who. There isn't a trace of BASH anywhere on the net except for in forums and on audio retail sites.

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

With the 300W, you will be getting a more powerful amp for your subs than the original. The 500W was split between the two subs and 5 sats. You will have 300W dedicated to your two subs. Also, what is the recommendation on resistor precision. I think all but one of the resistors I purchased...

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

With you all sending your units to these guys for $160 why wouldn't you just buy the 300W BASH amp and make a slight mod to your enclosure, then use a decent receiver for the sats? I saw someone selling 20 of them on Ebay for $125 w/ free shipping.

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

Its definitely physically fried. The trace around the mounting holes broke off in a few places.I don't really have a way to post pictures but between the frying and the desoldering iron, my board is a mess. I've already bought the parts ($30), taking lots of time to make sure that everything...

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

"I'd be happy to assist others in their repair." You can assist me, my question has gone two weeks without reply. How can I replace the actual PC Board for the Daughter Board - mine is fried. The board itself is totally fired with the leads burned off the board.

Klipsch Promedia 5.1's - Amp repair

My Daughter Board on my 5.1 Ultras is fried and cannot be reused. Do you all think that I could just use one of those square PCBoards from Radio Shack or should I try to make my own with the exact same layout with etching solution? I have already bought the replacement electronics for the...
