Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Ya. :) If Fractal would build an Array double stacked (12 drives), I would be in paradise. The drive cage design is ideal for cooling the disks. Imagine a baby like that with a raid controller to handle the extra 6 disks + 2 SSD's.
I'm bumping this thread because I'm interested to upgrade my NAS case. I currently have 6 x 3.5" drives and 1 SSD. I plan to add 2 extra drives and another SSD. I'm wondering if a multi-mount 3.5" bracket will fit fine with 2 drives into 5.25" bay? Thanks for your advice.
Ya, that will never happen as I only plan to use 1 SSD disk with the Rocket 620 card. In my books, I thought a "slow" SATAIII Rocket 620 port would be better than an onboard SATAII port.
Just to let you know, the SSD (Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2) is running on a FreeBSD environment (FreeNAS 8.0.3)...
I see, thanks for the explanation. In my case, I have all 6 SATAII ports used by regular disks and I wanted to add a SSD to cache the read data. So I opted for the Rocket 620 which provided the best of both worlds: very small in physical size and better speed than a SATAII port.

Hi guys,
I'm posting in this forum because is more related to data storage. I purchased recently a HighPoint Rocket 620 PCI-Express 2.0 controller to connect an SSD disk to my Supermicro X7SPA-HF-D525-O motherboard. I read about the X1 bottleneck and I could not find any small sized X4 cards...
The upgrade to 8GB of RAM dramatically increased the overall NAS performance and data transfer speeds.
Not sure at what point the SSD Cache helps but I definitely see an improvement. I used 2 x Corsair CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9 4GB blades.
Actually, I run FreeNAS on my box so I can setup VLAN's easy. The 6 SATA ports are used for 6 drives, set in a ZFS array. The problem I have is that I need to setup dual NIC's (LACP mode) for 2 networks. So I have to trade either the second network NIC's or the extra speed I could get with an...
Hi guys,
I'm using a Supermicro X7SPA-HF-D525 mobo for my NAS. Currently, I use all 6 SATA ports and I need an extra port to connect another SSD drive to use as cache. I also need to add another dual nic card, using the available PCI-E 2.0 slot. Ideally, I would like to get a card adapter that...
I think there are still issues with the Custom Color preset mode, in A02.
Download the Dead Pixel Locator application, start it and set the 2 custom colors like that:
Use the arrows to navigate through colors.
When I reached the Custom 1 and 2 colors, my screen was separated in 2 large...
Same here, I can only see the bleeding at night with all lights turned off and a black screen.
Still, is not as vivid as my phone camera pick it... I can notice it a little on the upper left area.
I simply want to make sure I did not get twice a Dell lemon. Let me know guys.
Hi guys,
I purchased recently a Dell U3011 monitor. The first monitor had some backlight issues and also an internal screen scuff (probably due to a high technician). I called Dell and they send me a new replacement unit (not refurbished). The monitor still has backlight issues. To give you...
