Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hi _Gea ...
Any ideas why I wouldn't be able to set the admin/operator passwords for napp-it?
I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 (x64) and I've configured everything as per the guide on the website.
I've entered new passwords under home > about > settings, but when I logout or restart napp-it...
Are there any more updates on peoples experiences with these AC units?
I've just received two of them to run as trial units for a 60+ AP deployment, and I'm just trying to gather up as much information as I possibly can.
I can see how a dodgy backplane might be able to damage a disk (as well as the backplane itself), but I'm struggling to see how any of your other components could have been damaged?
When you say that the system "does not work", what exactly do you mean by that?
Does it power actually on at...
If they're mirrored, then I probably wouldn't be too worried about getting the data off the array. Order yourself a new drive, and just swap it out ASAP.
In the meantime, run a scrub on the pool and see what it reports.
Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to accomplish, wouldn't the simplest solution be to simply run you NFS / ISCSI data in a separate IP range and/or VLAN ID?
That's a pretty standard best practice approach ...
I've been umming and ahhing about the Supermicro A1SAM-2750F for a while now, but in terms of "bang for buck" (especially considering what I actually need from them), these ASRock boards look like pretty clear winners to me.
Definitely planning on grabbing a couple of C2550d4i boards once I'm...
There really is no ideal solution to this problem, but you might want to look at zfs copies as a potential option.

Basically, setup your pool as raidz (in order to maximise available space), but then you can specify...
I'm not sure whether it will actually have any impact on the problems you're having, but I have noticed that LSI have just recently released new firmware/driver updates for those cards which might be worth looking into...
You'd be silly to waste all that space for only a single drive though, especially when you can pickup enclosures that will let you run 4-6 drives in the same amount of space.

Yes ... there's cheaper options out there, but these are my favourite in...
Hi guys,
I'm working on a new ZFS server at the moment, and I'm at the stage now of trying to figure out a decent snapshot schedule/strategy.
Now ... before anyone gets up in arms, I know that snapshots DON'T replace backups, and we're already planning on replicating the data onto another...
Did that ... the only difference is volblocksize = 8K (instead of 512 on the Napp-it created volume).
I can't see how that would be related to the problem at all though?
