Eizo Foris FG2421: 120hz VA Panel

I bought an FS2333 about a year ago. I'm extremely fond of it, but I'm considering 'upgrading' to the FG2421. Reading through this thread I'm not really sure if it is a real upgrade. The Hz obviously is, but I'm worried about the image quality. Are there any FS2333 owners that dare to make a...

PCI Express Gen.3 Support on PCI-e 2.0 mobo?

This would go for Titan and 7990 aswell? I'm planning to upgrade to GTX780 when it comes out and sing it out till DDR4 with my current hardware. If so... I'm just gonna drop the whole thing.

PCI Express Gen.3 Support on PCI-e 2.0 mobo?

This is all very confusing. I don't have the box anymore, but I'm quite sure the box said it was Gen 3 ready. My bottom line question, assuming mine is Gen 3 ready and I have a 3.0 GPU... apart from the CPU speed increase from an Ivy Bridge upgrade, will I enjoy any improvements from 'going gen...

    Is that good or bad?

PCI Express Gen.3 Support on PCI-e 2.0 mobo?

I get it. In other words, I can never do PCI-e 3.0 no matter what Gigabyte claims. If I ever wanted PCI-e 3.0 I would have to buy a new mobo (and a IB or HW CPU). Right? Marketing fluff like I suspected.

PCI Express Gen.3 Support on PCI-e 2.0 mobo?

Alright, I did some research. If I upgrade to Ivy Bridge I can technically run PCI-e 3.0... but it will be x8. PCI-e 2.0 x16 (what I'm running now) has exactly the same bandwith. Ergo, yes I can run 3.0 on my mobo, but I will not gain a single fps by it. Would be great if someone could...

PCI Express Gen.3 Support on PCI-e 2.0 mobo?

This sounds good, but how does that work with my chipset? The mobo has a P67 chipset... according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1155 that means it has no support for 3.0. What sorcery is Gigabyte applying to make it 3.0 despite this?

PCI Express Gen.3 Support on PCI-e 2.0 mobo?

I'm assuming this is pure marketing gibberish but I just want to check. http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3759#ov I have this mobo from the Sandy Bridge generation... it has a PCI-e x16/2.0 slot. On the overview page it says the following: Designed for PCI Express...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

By the way, does anyone know what type of IPS panel this is? I can't find any information about this whatsoever, since it's just called plain IPS everywhere... even on specs page on the Eizo site. The only hint I got that it's AH-IPS is from the review that was posted in this thread way back...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

After a week of use I started to notice some yellow/brownish vertical strokes around the center of my monitor. Imagine someone with filthy hands running his fingers down your panel. It took some training to see and only after pointing it out to others, they could see it too. That's why I didn't...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

Alright, turning down the brightness about halves the IPS glow. Not gonna post pictures since it's negligible. I found a guide that allows you to roughly estimate your luminance with a good camera. I used my gf her Canon and on full brightness it was 250 spot on. Like I said, it's a rough...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

I prefer to have full brightness, especially in games. 55 is just not enough for me. Could it be a defect that my monitor isn't as bright as it should be... is that common? I have no equipment to measure it. I'm going to try your settings tonight when it's dark(er) and I'll post a pic again.

    Eizo Foris FS2333

Thanks for the responses. I have the same settings... except I have brightness full-out. Is there any way to measure the cd/m2 without a calibrator? Also I got a question for the other owners of this monitor... look at the image below. I believe this phenomena is called IPS glow. I'm sure...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

If this is true for the FS2333 then I feel like a dummy after my rant. What you're saying does make sense though. But I still find text to be quite fuzzy... the same goes for Battlefield. Maybe that is the effect of playing with Smart resolution/insight? After all, it does sharpen stuff up in...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

Question for the Eizo owners. I received my FS2333 a couple of days ago, but something really bothers me... There is a 'smoothing' setting in the OSD that is set to 3. It's kind of like an built-in anti aliasing. The worst part is that you can NOT change thr smoothing setting in native...
