Hm ok.
Well I might have another solution - a person on a local aussie HT trading forum has a 7.1 set of these speakers up for sale:

How would pairing these speakers with one of the receivers mentioned above (Cambridge 640R...
Hmm 20 watts per channel doesn't sound much? I preferably want a setup that will sound as-good or better than what the S750 system was already like.
I have found another AVR with 7.1 inputs that seems not too large - Cambridge Audio Azur 640R. The S750 satellites are made by Cambridge Audio...
Thanks for the suggestions will have a look out for it. Would also prefer one that's slimmer rather than fatter too - Marantz have a couple I see but they don't have analog 7.1 input. Are there any slim AVR's with the 7.1 in?
Ok thanks for the info. Is there any receiver you or anyone else could recommend that would work the best with the S750 satellites? (power rating etc). It needs to have 7.1 RCA input so I can hook up my PC x-fi to it. There are quite a few models and brands to choose from. Don't really need one...
Ah ok, yeh I had considered that but thought that if I'm going down this route that I might want to upgrade the front's and center.
For setting this kind of config up, how do I configure crossovers etc? With the s750 system as it is, crossover settings in Windows X-Fi control panel etc are...
Ok so does anyone know what the sensitivity of the s750 speakers are?
I was thinking of pairing 4 of the s750 satellites to use as surrounds, and using something like Dali Concept 2's bookshelfs + Concept center as fronts. And getting a new sub like Dali Concept sub? Looking at local Australian...
Just wondering does anyone know what the nominal impedence for the Gigaworks s750 speakers are? I am in the same situation as the OP and need a new sub, amp etc since my s750 sub died.
I am thinking of mixing and matching some of my existing S750 speakers in a new setup for use as surrounds...
I am having a problem with my motherboard shorting and turning off after POSTing, I'm almost certain it's due to me chucking out the plastic part of the backplate, can anyone else confirm that electrical tape is the best thing to use? Or would sticking thin rubber (cut to size) to the backplate...
