Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for the info. I might look into a better PSU in the future, especially if I have any issues with it.
On a good note, the PC seems to be fine now. No more issues, so I think all is well. I reflashed the BIOS and upated all my drivers (again) to make sure they were good, and it seems fine...
Thanks for the info. System seems to be running fine now. Not sure what the issue was, but I reflashed the BIOS and uninstalled/reinstalled some drivers. Since then, it's been good mostly all day. So hopefully that corrected the issue.
Thanks for everyone's help.
Why is the one I got crappy? It's working fine, and should have enough juice right? Seemed to be rated well on Newegg too. I know Antec is usually better, but so far this one is working OK. I guess I'm just wondering what specifically makes it crappy.
Weird. Why does it have overclocking options in the BIOS if it can't overclock? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The options are there and I can adjust them, so I'd think they'd work at least.
If not, I'll need to get a budget-yet-overclockable motherboard so I don't let the 2500k go to...
The system stability seems good now. I'm not sure what's changed, but I've run it through gaming and many, many stress tests today. All seems fine.
If I need anymore help I'll post here, but so far everything seems good. I reflashed the BIOS again to make sure it "took" (I may have rebooted it...
I have the B75M-DGS ASRock board. It has overclocking stuff in the BIOS (settings and such) but I can't get the core clock of 37 to stick. In fact it doesn't seem to be doing any thing different at all other than running normally.
I have an i5-2500k in there. I thought putting the All Core...
Update: I've uninstalled the Intel Smart Connect feature and turned it off in my BIOS. I've installed all the latest drivers for my motherboard (which, I thought I had anyway, but in any case they are for sure installed now). Latest WHQL is installed for the Geforce 650 Ti, and some Intel...
Thanks for the suggestions man. I am running a memtest now. It's memtest pro. I got it for $5, seems pretty popular. I'm running it while also running prime95 and fur mark without any issues so far. So I'm puzzled about what is going on.
I did no put the new psu in yet as I don't see a need...
One more question - I looked at a Thermaltake 600w PSU at Best Buy, and the 12v rail sections say 23A and 20A. I'm assuming that's 276w + 240w = 516w on the 12v rail(s)? Which should be much more than my system needs anyway (at least 90w more than I've calculated). I may get that just in case I...
Unfortunately I have a random reboot issue going on. I'm not sure what the issue might be. Here's the system:
i5-2500k (stock)
Corsair 8gb (2 4gb sticks) RAM
500w Cooler Master PSU
ASRock motherboard (b75m-dgs)
Regular CD-RW drive (lite-on I think)
1tb Seagate 7200 rpm hard drive
Nvidia 650 Ti...
OK, I just checked my email and it rebooted. This was after all the tests were finished running for about 5 minutes. Then when it rebooted, it rebooted again when it hit the Windows logon screen. Now it's fine, logged in like nothing was wrong. I may need to post in a more general...
Thanks for the info Tsumi. I ran Furmark and Prime95 at the same time without any issues. Max GPU temp was 65C and Max CPU temp was 72C. No reboots, nothing out of the ordinary at all. I ran MSI Afterburner's OSD and it showed the GPU memory at only 22% capacity. I may need to run the resolution...
