    headphones recommendation?

"We at headphones.com also really enjoy the Beyerdynamic DT880! It happens to be one of our most popular sellers. We find that it suits a variety of tastes. When paired with a good headphone amp such as the Beyerdynamic A1 Headphone Amp, it becomes apparent that the 600 ohm version of this...

    headphones recommendation?

Go for the AD900x with tenso.com to save about $100, they are new and have bass. Otherwise, the AD700 and AD900 are not good for your likes. The Fiio E17 is better than the E7. Hmm, for rap a closed can like the Beyer 770.

Need a little advice on a wall I've hit.

I'd go for the Lirpas: http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article/celeb-bait-lirpa-labs-celebrity-headphones Then wait for the ODAC with the O2: http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2012-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2013-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=4

It's B-Stock, so if you are a Germaphobe these German phones may not be too appealing.

New Headphones under $75 for comfort?

    I'd get this: http://www.dakmart.com/Audio-Home-Audio-Headphones/c4_9_28/p9816/SELDD-SENNHEISER-HD55-HD-555-HEADPHONES-CD-DVD-MP3-CDR/product_info.html

now i'm rocking out like it is 1977

I've been using a Pioneer SA-6800 with my Fiio E10 and I can see why you would get this. The music opens up when you add one of these.

    Headphones and soundcard question

http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2012-02-01T08:20:00-08:00&max-results=1&start=1&by-date=false I have the Fiio E10 and per the above link and heafonia.com it is superior to the Fiio E7. Nevertheless, the 24/96 output is not authentic as the review points out above. It is true...

    Headphones and soundcard question

The poster wants closed cans, but I see your point. When I tried the M-50s at the local Guitar Center, it was like I was sitting next to the drum and bass section and the vocals were secondary. If the motherboard is at least 97dB SNR, then there would be the Shure 840s or the Senn HD 380s for...

    Headphones and soundcard question

If you have a Windows desktop, a Xonar card and the ATH M-50 would be a bit under $200 and be closed. If your motherboard is new, the need for a soundcard would be less, though the high SNR of one would help. Tweak the settings a bit and it will fit your request there.

Excessive ringing in ears after headphone use

I've had tinnitus for over 10 years and I use headphones. The solution was to get a better source, DAC, headphones and do a sine sweep to equalize them. Here is the link I used: http://www.head-fi.org/t/413900/how-to-equalize-your-headphones-a-tutorial When an area made my ears hurt, I would...

Need headphones for open-office with excellent passive isolation

The HD 380 are monitor phones. If you want boomy bass, look elsewhere. Otherwise, they should isolate sound very well.

    Source upgrade: Xonar vs Fiio

From what you wrote, I would go with the Xonar. The E10 is great for streaming music and my foobar2000 files (FLAC, 96/24 WMA, and mp3s) which sound clear on the SHR440s. However, for example, Team Fortress 2's ding sounds when I hit an enemy (enabled in the preferences section) sound...
