Some of the cost is due to the size of the Chip. It's gigantic, the biggest Nvidia has produced on its current node, maybe even any node, and yields are supposedly pretty low (Probably part of the reason we haven't seen a 2080ti Super). Not that I think it's rational for a consumer GPU to cost...

is 4.25 at 1.42v really that good of an all core oc on Ryzen 3000? That voltage seems a bit high for being manually set. From what I've seen, most don't recommend going over 1.35v for manually set voltage. I'm currently at 1.325v @ 4200 on my 3700x.

Make sure you aren't connected to the internet after you use DDU, or windows will install drivers for the new GPU upon boot up, which most likely will be months behind. There's also a setting in DDU to prevent windows from doing that, but they recommend reverting that change after you install...
