It can use USB-C flash drives. Not sure if it outputs enough power to spin up a hard drive on its own. You need to get a video player for the headset that knows what to do with external media, though. (Skybox and 4XVR do. Dunno about others.)
Make sure you get a right-angled cable for the...
Human reaction time is more than an order of magnitude greater than that. 12ms is well within your brain's ability to seamlessly compensate for.
There's plenty that makes me want to purchase it. Not $3500 of want, but there's some pretty cool tech in there.
Ah. Yes, I'm sure you're one of...
Asgard's Wrath 2 lists as 29gb -- and that's without a high-res texture pack which the dev has said will drop at some future date. It's currently an outlier, though.
Most titles run low-to-mid single-digit gigabytes. Recent big titles hover in the low teens.
That said, those numbers could...
The Kiwi Design battery is probably operating as a standard USB2 power bank. The usual USB2 power standard (10 watts; 5v, 2a) isn't enough to keep up with the Quest 2's power needs. It'll extend the battery life substantially, but it'll slowly drain the headset's battery while in use.
You...
Not sure why you'd want that. Airlink bandwidth is constrained by the Q3's video decoding hardware, and I'm pretty sure the flash can't shift data fast enough to saturate OG USB3.
I'd say it's kind of a toss-up.
On the one hand, the 128gb model saves you $50.
On the other, the smaller model could get a little tight -- particularly if the two of them are loading different games on it. That $50 could go a ways towards keeping the peace.
Your call.
XB1 VR isn't a thing.
PC-wise: CPU is fine. GPU is pretty anemic. It won't do VR particularly well without a GPU upgrade, but it will do it.
Headset-wise: Quest 2. Holiday sales put the 128gb model at $250, or the 256gb at $300. (Used, they're running <$200.) Excellent for standalone...
I mean, thats... cool for them? But, that doesn't change that you're sitting at the nexus of the performance of a component that AMD doesn't care about, and the driver stability of a component that AMD... doesn't care about.
Like, yes, there's no reason that institutional knowledge shouldn't...
RE: iGPU
This is not an APU. This is just enough video rendering capacity to stop whiners from bitching about something Intel CPUs have and AMD CPUs don't, that they (a) don't need, and (b) won't use. This is for overspecced home NASes and diagnosing mis-seated graphics cards.
Unless your...
Not exactly surprising that Apple is paying less. Is there any other major player designing their own cores on an architecture license, rather than just licensing the cores outright from ARM?
This reads kind of like your computer, internet router, and VR router are all connected to each other in a big circle. That would be bad, because consumer gear is not good at handling multi-pathing.
For reference:
Also:
Make sure the VR router has been set to AP mode, so it doesn't try to...
