Yeah I had a similar dilemma but I was waiting nearly for one year to buy a new and a big monitor. It will be many months before the quality of 30"s to increase, if at all. Prices do not decrease that much with these either. That's why I bought mine now. Otherwise I would have to wait for a long... -

I bought a brand new U3014 a couple hours ago despite knowing all the possible issues because I find multiple monitor setups very tiring-jarring (I used to have 4 monitors years ago and used to run with 2 until today). I opted to go with a 30" 2560x1600. In my country only U3014 is available... -

Dell U3014 unusable for motion?
I bought this monitor just a couple of hours ago. RTC overshoot does exist and very visible -at least on my unit- when scrolling black text over grey background. It is very annoying. I haven't seen it on other color combinations yet. -

Weird Problem with my new DELL U3014
I bought myself a brand new U3014 a couple of hours ago. Unfortunately it has the exact same h-lines issue just like the OP. Lower left portion of the screen is highly affected, upper right is OK. My unit also has other 'popular' defects as well, like backlight bleed from corners, RTC...
