Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Sitting further back helped a bit, also positioning myself right of center to counteract the stronger glow in the lower-right while playing Skyrim. Probably what helped the most though was increasing the in-game brightness within Skyrim. It's not quite as moody now, but at least I can see...
This isn't right guys.
The assertion that 16:10 is "less" than 16:9 is fundamentally flawed because aspect ratio is not a pixel count.
An 800x450 smartphone screen is a 16:9 display. So does it show more stuff than the 16:10 Dell U2412M? Obviously not, because aspect ratio has nothing to...
This was a surprise for me, I've had a FlexView 15" Thinkpad laptop (IPS panel, loved it for years), and briefly owned that glossy NEC 20WMGX2 which I really liked a lot, gorgeous panel.
I considered myself a die-hard IPS fan until I sat this close to a 24". Too big, too close is a whole nother...
Looking to replace my wife's BenQ FP241W (24" / 1920x1200 / P-MVA). The BenQ is 5 years old and there's significant burn-in, the hardware's acting up (flashes off/on couple times a day). Time to replace it.
Color reproduction is not critical, need good blacks (no IPS glow) & viewing angles...
I guess this seems obvious in hindsight but view frustum isn't highly discussed so I guess I hadn't thought of it until now.
The distance you plan to sit from an IPS panel is a pretty relevant factor. This unscientific sequence of photos demonstrates view frustum effect on IPS glow.
At...
Oh ok I think I see what's going on then. My physical distance from the monitor is only like 16", I'm sitting pretty close to it. At this distance my view frustum has pretty steep angles, so toward the edges of my vision it's effectively like viewing those parts of the monitor from the side...
Anyone else experience severe IPS glow with their U2412M?
It's a deal breaker for Skyrim, which has a lot of dark environments:
All black screen:
The location of the glow is relative to the center of your viewing angle. There's always severe glow in all 4 diagonal directions from...
