Im actually intrigued by the new Corsair H100i for the new fans included and the bigger tubing and of course the ability to control everything within the corsair link software. Maybe I may upgrade to that and wait for a custom loop system for my next build. I watched the review by overclock 3d...
Ya, I'm not expecting much of a difference between 4.8 and 5ghz. And I don't need epeen. I just want to maximize the potential of my cpu. Why would anyone buy a 500 dollar cpu and not try to get the most out of it? Also yes I could get another case, but I will only have my computer for...
In prime95 there is one core that goes up to 85ish at 4.5ghz. At 4.5 im really straining what the h80 was made for. Regular game play all cores are below 71c. I may just get a rx360 then just mount the thing on the outside of the case. It may be uglier but im sure it would be 10c cooler not...
Also I have tried 5 ghz and I couldn't get windows to start up regardless of voltage. I didn't want to keep trying on an h80 for fear I would ruin my chip without the right cooling.
Why 200 mhz? Is that a real question on these forums? It's not necessary to jack it up to 4.8 ghz in most cases as well and not necessary to water cool when stock on air would be just fine. Just for the hell of it? For fun?
I currently have a 3930k on a h80 and want to overclock to 4.8 to 5ghz and was searching for the best water cooling setup. I have a limited amount of space for a radiator in my antec 900 but I could fit a 240mm radiator pretty easily. I was looking at getting a xspc rasa 750 rx240. If I wasn't...
For some unknown reason the vcore was at 1.35. Norm is 1.3 for this chip but I lowered it to 1.25 and overclocked to 4.2 and its stable. Interesting I thought I would have to up the voltage but turns out turning it down reduced the heat and the OC took at that voltage
I think its a heat issue, I was rechecking the cpu temps and while playing guild wars 2 at 4.2 ghz, which I was able to do, the frame rate was slightly clunkier and some of the core temps were going up to 75c and I think the extra heat in the case from the two 7970s is causong the cpu temps to...
I have 8x4 sticks of ram, Ive tried both automatic and manual and used intel burn test util to make sure clock speeds were stable. It ran the intel burn test fine at 4.2 ghz. Anything above it wasnt stable. Ill have to double check which voltages I used in Bios. Just responding from my phone...
Hey guys, I got my computer built but before I got my 7970s I had no problem overclocking my 3930k to 4.4ghz. Now when I try to overclock I get hard locks. As far as I can tell the cpu isnt getting any hotter than 60-65 degrees C and Im using an H80 cooler. Whats also strange is I can not...
Thankyou to both of your for your replies, I'll give it as shot just as soon as I get the parts in, Still waiting on the video cards and mobo for my system since their on backorder, but as soon as they come in , i'll try it out! I didn't think about the hoses not being physically long enough...
