    @D-EJ915, thanks for the suggestion. @Aesma, I'm not planning on using all drive bays at first. Regardless, from what I've tried to piece together I don't believe I need the SATA ports for anything else other than the OS drives. I think I just need to attach the backplane to the LSI LSI00244...
