Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

i cant see any advantages of going over 8GB in RAM unless you are planning on running virtual machines on your desktop. 8GB is plenty for a win 7 gaming machine.
RDP will require another PC being turned on upstairs. I RDP from my laptop to my desktop in another room a lot. You could connect an older PC or laptop to be used to RDP into your 1st floor workstation from the second floor.
RDP is the Remote Desktop Protocol, allowing you to login to a...
For the rest of the month you should put together some ideal systems for yourself using an online vendor. This will give you an idea of how much each individual part costs, and you can determine how you want to spread your budget around.
this is overkill, but you want something similiar to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704133

The sleep and wake problem sounds like there may be an issue with the Samsung 830. I would also look for and install the latest drivers you can find for that 830.
