Just had a friend in St. Louis pick up a 4790K and an ASRock Pro4 for me, total after tax and rebate was right around $370.

$20 rebate, 109.99-20.00=89.99. Looks like a solid deal.

Hahahaha. Anyways - I think Cecil is right. I would think that virtualization would make a lot of sense. Your ears work in stereo and it is my understanding that positional effects with your ears are worked out with timing, meaning stereo headphones with virtualization could do a better job...

I thought that Windows 8 was great on the Surface Pro. On my desktop, however, I was far less impressed. A lot of the touch/swipe features were really intuitive on the Surface and I was really impressed. On my desktop where there is no touch, Windows 7 is still easier. I haven't tried 8.1...

I don't think I'd buy 4k on a 28" display, but that's pretty crazy. MSRP of $799 isn't bad though.

EVGA got back to me and ... it is a bad motherboard. They put out a new bios on 8/31, and told me to flash that. I did, and the flash showed that it couldn't update 4 blocks of memory. They said they needed to RMA it.
